Some of you? I assume you mean "some of ME". If you read my post, I never said that possession of marijuana is an offense as egregious as molesting a child. I never said that marijuana has a tendency to make people violent. I've smoked plenty of it myself in the past, I know full-well how it affects someone. You're only pulling the wool over your own eyes if you're attempting to make all drug users look like fine upstanding model citizens. I've known plenty of pot dealers who carried handguns illegally. I've known plenty of pot smokers who have extensive criminal records, and most of the offenses were not drug related. The point I was making is that both things (possession of drugs OR child molestation) are absolutely positively against the law. Don't feed me the line about "weed isn't becoming socially acceptable, it IS." Sure, in other places. But here in America, it's illegal. If it were so socially acceptable, why would they give pre-employment drug screens? Why would insurance companies require drug screens in order to cover the cost of medical bills created by on-the-job accidents? Why do you have to hide your hash pipe from other drivers when you're riding down the road smoking a bowl? If it were indeed completely socially acceptable in America, seems to me you wouldn't have to worry about your neighbors catching a whiff off the hydro growing in your basement.

If you think I'm personally of the opinion that it should remain an illegal substance, you're wrong. Like I said, I've probably smoked more weed the last two years I did it, than you ever will in your entire life. From my own experience, it impairs a person less than alcohol and is just as medically harmful for your body as cigarette smoking, maybe a little moreso. I used to smoke it all day long every day for several years. I coughed up more gunk and had lung pains far worse during that period than when I smoked nonfilter cigarettes like a chimney. After a while, even the strongest hydro I could find wouldn't get me high for longer than 15 minutes, which is why I smoked constantly. Seeing as how there are no signs of physical addiction or immediate health risk, I would say it should probably be legalized. After all, cigarettes ARE addictive and pose no "immediate" health risk and they are legal products. Alcohol has the potential to be addictive and poses no "immediate" health risk, and it's legal. Doesn't mean I'm going to partake of them though. As I said, and it is 100% fact, they manipulate and dull the senses and influence people to do things they might not otherwise do. They make you stupid and unproductive. If someone can tell me with a straight face that a person who is fucked up on weed is any smarter at that moment than they might otherwise be, I'd be happy to roll my eyes at them. There were several points I made in that particular post that I don't think I spelled out clear enough, obviously. My point is, I don't want to hear about people getting fucked up and using drugs, I hate that shit. Since these are liberally moderated forums, I have the right to say that here. Just as anyone else has the right to talk about getting fucked up and smoking white widow with a dusting of extra keefe on top out of an original tommy chong 3 footer glass bong loaded with ice cubes. And if none of us like the fact that we're all allowed to speak our minds, we have the option of leaving, no one is holding a gun to anyone's head (other than in the game) and forcing them to interact and play here. Complaining about someone else being able to speak however they wish seems like... hrmmm, irony defined, maybe?

FYI driving a car is also a health risk. So is getting out of bed for the day... or even staying in bed. Everything you do can effect your health in some way.

Not everyone gets as paranoid on weed as you seem to. I smoked in broad daylight while in public... I never cared? I also never have been caught with it. Sounds like you can't handle being high, that's not everyones problem. Besides we're talking about raping children and killing minorities, not drugs.

I clearly have standards on the issue and I know there is a difference between harm and love.

However I know there are alot of people out there who cant see any differenec between any name or title. And those are the people who will ignore my clarification on the difference between harm/hate and love. And they will willfully and blindly continue to persecute me and every other person whos race or religion or sexuality conflicts with thier own or thier ignorantly held beleifs.

It may bear pointing out, however, that it is also possible to know the difference between harm and love, and indeed still disagree about the appropriateness of sexual relations between adults and children.

For example: "Opponents also argue that pre-pubescent children in particular are not capable of giving consent and that the power imbalance between adults and children makes any sexual relationship exploitative." ^(link)

My point is simply that it's quite possible to have no problem whatsoever with someone's gay or lesbian sexual orientation, yet still have very specific reasons to believe sexual relations with adults are not in the best interest of children.

Thus, even though you've explained that from your point of view you know the difference between hate and love and would never do harm to a child, there is a contrasting viewpoint that children can be too young to give consent, and thus sexual relations with a child may still be causing harm regardless of your motives.

As such, I would caution against dismissing everyone who may disagree with you as simply ignorant or hateful.
