Well, I find all of these names should be banned. They either contain a derogatory remark, impress a religious view, or just plain conjure up a mental image I find repulsive/offensive. These should all be banned too!!! On a side note, PSC servers would never allow these aliases to play according to their conservative server policies, which they are well within their right to assert.

I haven't seen pedophilette or whatever he calls himself in quite a while. He used to connect fairly late at night. I would ignore his banter until I finally said something. As there were only 5 people playing he was looking for a conversation. So he's talking about little girls. Wasn't sure if he was kidding or not, so I was still chatting and being polite. So when the chat turns to "C'mon Recycled - don't tell me you wouldn't if you had the chance." Whoa - where did that come from? Clearly he's testing me to see where I'm at. So I tell him I prefer adults and quietly disconnect a few frags later.
I doubt if this is just someone pulling your chain. The topic is always the same and he is clearly fixated on children.
Like the "n" word I would ask him to change his tag and cease that type of conversation because it is inappropriate. He probably chooses a Quake2 server since it is wide open chat-wise and there are no police trolling it.

Let's just say, what if, this Pedophile(tte) person was indeed a registered/non registered sex offender. Wouldn't the courts look favorably upon someone who doesn't leave the audience unaware by wearing a sort of cyber Scarlet Letter? It just seems like we're carrying on as if this person has committed a crime of trying solicit children into inappropriate conduct via these game servers where I have failed to see evidence of such. A pedophile is a person sexually attracted to young children. That in itself, is not a crime. One you 'step over a line,' and act upon those urges, that is where a crime is committed.

As far as those names I listed, I did that to be sarcastic...to show a ball could get rolling on a slippery slope of what a person could deem offensive. Good point.... Reminds me of when I was summoned for jury duty on a DUI case.  The judge made it very clear to us that it is NOT illegal to drink and drive.  It is only illegal if your blood alcohol content is over a particular limit.  (Of course, that limit is rather low... but it was still an interesting distinction.)

I just read through  Cat's condump there.  I had an exchange of words with a self admitted pedophile on another forum once, via PM, and he pretty much said the same exact things about himself.

I really don't understand how these people can say it's just a sexual orientation  Pedophilia is a sickness, not a sexual orientation, these people should seek help for it instead of trying to make it seem ok by saying they'd never hurt children.

could just be some dickhead kick being a dickhead.  in college me & my (then) GF would go in to online Q2 games, chat rooms, web/flash based games, pretend to be "normal" people chatting, playing, etc.  then we'd start to get in to arguments over really stupid crap.  We'd be in the same room doing it & laughing our asses off.  The lesson of the story is we've all been dicks just for fun, could be the case here.
