Well a lot of us elderly, care. You don't need to be an English major to practice basic literacy. The language has been dumbed down enough in the last 2 decades by the illiterates of the world.

I just might misspell a word now and then and maybe forget to add the right punctuation...

It annoys me when people go around looking for 1 little mistake to correct people on. Being corrected is annoying and kind of rude I think.

I also care that many north american people have managed to portray all americans as simpletons due to their apathy regarding correct punctuation and spelling.

Everywhere else in the world, they learn how to speak proper english and they learn how to spell correctly, but in North America everyone seems to think it's fine to be a lazy slob who can't be bothered to actually type out the word "you".

I find this completely retarded, and I will show people who act/speak/type this way no respect.

Next time you lapse into netspeak and forget to use punctuation, ask yourself this question:

If I can't be bothered to spell words correctly and form reasonably coherent sentences, why should anyone else take me seriously or bother to read the drivel that I just produced?

Mistakes are fine, but making this lazy ass way of typing into a cultural norm is irresponsible, and it makes me look bad by geographical association.

Hey recycled. I meant to say EPA, not CDC. I confused it because I was watching a Russian made movie today where they incorrectly translated environmentalist to "ecologist" and they also mentioned the CDC in a similar mistranslation.

I wasn't picking on you, Daemia. Just ranting at the general decline in the standard of basic education and literacy. It started in the early 70's and has done a slow spiral ever since. I could publish a small story my 13 year old nephew wrote (he's entering high school). You wouldn't believe how appalling it is.

So we make peace yes/no?
