how long you been growing that beard man? I got one about half that size ive been growing for like 9 months, my hair doesn't like to grow fast

I guess the last time I trimmed it down was around April. I think at that time I just had a big ole full bushy santa claus beard. I was supposed to show up for a family reunion so I cut it all off to a short goatee and mustache so that my mom wouldn't bitch at me so much for looking like a serial killer when she saw me. After that, I just quit trimming it again, only occasionally shaving off the sides of muh face to keep it as a goatee and not a full beard. I guess the longest I've ever had it was about 12 inches, and I usually kept it bunched up with rubber bands every 2 inches or so. It always looks like total fucked up shit when I first wake up. It gets all folded up and parted and sticks out all over the place and I looked like an escaped mental patient. My facial hair is really curly, coarse and dry anyway, so I usually stick my face under the bathroom faucet and turn the hot water all the way up to make it hang straight again.
