Perhaps so, but on the other hand we are steadily pushing the frontiers of knowledge...

To use the old lightning example, in olden times people thought lightning & thunder were caused by God(s).

Now, we can see that lightning and thunder can happen on their own, according to fundamental processes of physics.

So where we once might have said, "I'm not sure whether God is involved in lightning and thunder", we might now say, "It doesn't look like God needs to be involved at all, because these events can happen by themselves in acordance with known fundamental processes."

So I think following that trend, there will probably be things for which we now say, "I'm not sure whether God needs to be involved", where future generations may regard these things as obviously following physical processes, as we regard thunder & lightning today.

So, "I'm not sure" may be a good starting point, but I don't think it's a good stopping point.
