Oh come on man. Some said that turning on spawnprotect would totally ruin the server but clearly it didn't bother people enough to not play there. I dislike quad but it didn't make me stop playing there, it only stopped me from playing against certain players.
I can only tell what I don't like about q2dm7; getting snagged on the sidetrims on the floor which ruins fluid movement->slime dives/ very low on health->added adrenaline/ unable to use the red pipes to get out of the slime/ disappearing RL when weaponstay is off, etc.
But the fact remains that it's a custom map and therefore I understand that people are not too crazy about it when the server is supposed to be standard. Replacing a stock map has a bigger effect on the 'standard feeling' than the tweaking of certain dm-settings. I could make a dm7mod2 with the original RL deathtrap back in place but even then I foresee the same complaints when it's replacing q2dm7 on DM. The server setup is fine now I think, some may disagree but I feel the (+pu)/(-pu) cycling does give it something extra.

It's quite a nice modification, in my opinion. . .

OK my take - use the alternate rotation for the DM7MOD map too.

anyone else think it's different? I seems so to me.

Tried dm7mod, it's ok.
Would defenatly be better with the RL trap.
As far as the edges on all paths, the stock one simply makes you think ahead and remember to jump a half a second earlier to keep from getting binded up.
Both of them are still a constant acid bath, but no worse than the lava tomb with it's constant lava baths.
There is more walk way space, camping holes for newbs along catwalk over acid chamber, an Adrenaline PU for the desporately low healthed, backback, and 50Armor in seperate locations. One of which that can make for more camping. Other than that they're both the same.

If the RL trap can be fixed like Panjoo said, it would be worth rotating every -PU rotation.

I just hope other folks doesn't start begging for other "slightly altered maps".

This scares me.

If you know where the "secret spot" in the original DM7 is, then you'll know where the red armor is.

T-intersection by the upper RL......look at rocket launcher and jump into the acid on the right.....there is a "waterbox" wall that you can go into and hide.

Great way to kill time in a 1v1 when you're up by a couple.

q2DM7 was only made so that q2dm7mod could be made some day.
