Isn't a c2d more than enough to benefit the 250?

I don't have a cpu fan cooler on mine like he does. He's probably got it oc'd.

it's a very cost effective build.

people are always trying to feed me lines of BS about how cheap console gaming is, so I figure I should shut em up with my leet cheapness skillz.

This box will rape any 3 major consoles combined, it still has room for 2 more vid cards, and it has pron.

its balanced yes... the graphics card and processor arent really holding each other back... but they werent even high performance parts of their time...

and third party cooler doesnt mean its over clocked... id assume stock... besides that cooler looks like it sux

right now, just a phII 940 at stock 3ghz, had it oc'd but i didnt need it so i figured id save the temps and just run stock... couple 8800gts, the third gen ones with the g92 core that were rebranded as the 9800gtx+ and the 250gts

buuut mine were when they were actually high end... the 250 was low end on release... plus i have two of them and smash single card 260s

then a couple gigs of ddr2 1066 because i dont need more than 2g for linux and winxp...

im holding out for the new bulldozer processors from amd, they will totally smash anything intel, and when i do that ill upgrade to 4 6 or 8 gig of ddr3 1600 or 1833 with a new motherboard and a 500 series card from nvidia

the launch price of the processors will probably be really steep but when it drops im gonna jump on them asap

Mine's nothing special. Just bought a new mobo, processor, card, ram, and power supply.
Asus evo motherboard, dont feel like typing all the damn numbers.
EVGA Gtx 460
650 watt power supply
8 gb corsair ram 1600
phenom II x4 965

around 500 bucks for everythin, currently my power supply and cd drive are out of the case to make room for the motherboard. pretty solid for the price.

those 570s look nice

kinda wondering how well the gigabyte 560 SOC card compares to them though

2ghz sharder clock, 1ghz core... factory OC'd... that might just well make up for the slightly less memory bandwidth, think the 560 SOC is a 256 bit card like the rest of the 560s but all the 570s and up are like 320 with like 256mb more vram... and the 570 comes with a small handful more stream processors but they both have more than enough

its also got a 4580 effective memory clock compared to the reference 3800 on the 570 lol...

and hte best part.. its only 270ish

lol they sell out like instantly where ever they get into stock though...

then has sizer

open up the run box from your start menu, and type in "dxdiag" click ok or accept or yes or w/e it wants the first time you run it, and that should get you some more detailed spec's without having to install anything

should list ram but not its speed, should list how fast your cpu is running, should list with graphics chipset you are using and how much vram it has if you switch over to the graphics tab... those are the three biggest spec's when it comes to performance

there is a video or graphics tab that will tell you video stuff

btw, your using pagefile... installing more ram if you can would give your system a VERY noticeable performance increase

and a 3.2ghz pent4 is much more respectable than the horrid <2ghz ones

so you should be glad you checked lol
