BadBrent, I noticed your RAM is in slots 1 and 3. Is that dual channel DDR ram? I heard that for the dual channel feature to work the ram has to be paired in slots 1 and 2, or 3 and 4. Or am I mistaken?

Have to send my DFI board back to newegg for RMA replacement, found out my SATA ports are faulty =(

So now I'm down to a backup Sempron 2500+ processor I have, on an ECS motherboard with my old Nvidia 6800 AGP card (not too shabby).

Also, I just picked up a SB X-Fi Fatal1ty sound card, so my old X-Fi Xtreme Music I don't need anymore, in case anybody is interested in it =) I have the original box and everything.

Today I finished building my rig. Thanks for your help in the technical forum. I payed almost $900. A little over budget but with computers you get what you pay for.

Bought an nvidia 7900GS PCI-e card the other day from woot.com, was a great deal at $145 shipped. Have it overclocked from 450/660 stock to 550/820 now. And I finally got my Opteron 165 at a stable overclock. I bought a Thermaltake Silent Water cooling kit and I'm running the CPU @ 2.52 GHz now, stock being 1.8 GHz.

Man, I hate video cards. Why do they taunt me! Everytime I see a card drop in price about $30-50 I end up buying it. My video card gets replaced every 2-4 months I swear. I have a real probem.

For now I am, but I have a Zalman VF900 on the way. Gonna use arctic silver 5, and some artic silver thermal adhesive to attach the ram-sinks I think.

I'm planning on voltmodding it, maybe getting 650+ on the core (same as 7900GTX), and maybe a bit more on the memory too. I've run the card as high as 585/890 through 3DMark03/05/06 but using ATITool's artifact scanner it won't pass though I don't see any major artifacts in 3DMark at those speeds.

I have an ATI X800GTO PCI-e for sale Link (unlocked to 16 pipes, same as X850XT/XT PE), and have it OC'd from 400/490 stock to 540 core/550 mem (X850XT is 520/540). Has video in/video out (VIVO). It has an Arctic Cooling ATI Silencer 4 Rev. 2 on it as well Link. Even on high I cannot hear it at all really. Does a great job of evacuating hot air out of the case and keeps the card about 40C idle, and 60C max load. That was up from 50C or so idle and 78C max load. Installed with Arctic Silver 5 as well.
