Here's my philosophy on it:

Camping is IN the game like it or not.

Poor playing ethics, but legit.

Personally I try my best to play honorable and not do it.

Once the smoke clears, if I'm the last man standing, I move the fuck on.

Search and destroy.

Unfortunately some players out there don't see it this way, that's their peragotive.

Your missing a question, the "I love campers, there the ones i kill the most" option

Me i could really careless unless its like the [PIT] server where they ALL spwan camp each other. Me i enjoy targeting any campers i come across. Especially in the lab map where i almost always walk into the teleporters with active grenades so if someone Is in there with shotgun or rail camping, they die with me

Camping is most of the time ineffective, therefore pointless, but if ya wanna camp go ahead. Fine with me. Most maps are made in such way that they offer equal opportunities to the players, so whether you camp or not is up to your style I guess..

Camping is availible to any player in the game, therefore it doesn't bother me (too much). Spawn camping is 100x worse. Players like the {PIT} clan who have made a career of it, irritate me at times, but at least they don't cheat, which is honorable in itself (gahhhd, did I say that?). I don't know a single player who doesn't camp, at times IMO.

Sometimes camping is mistaken for not moving from an area where players keep showing up. I've seen this happen often, so in that sense, "camping" can be interpreted differently depending on who you talk to.

I detest servers that have anti-camping configurations.
As Ballz said, camping is part of the game. It's just an ethics issue, period.

I odn't think that camping is necessarily a bad thing. 1st person shooters need snipers to make the game interesting. Spawn / teleport campers are another story......

You're right, camping does not have to be part of the game. There are mods that time you out and move you to spec for standing still, which is easily circumvented and seriously lame.

The other option is to kick the campers, then you get into the definition and each persons interpretation of camping (read my earlier post). This is just another opening for abuse by the power hungry, IMO.

If Xquake were to adopt the policy of "no camping", I'd probably not play there anymore, eventhough I rarely (like never) camp. Xquake is famous for anything goes, except cheating. In rare instances, certain admins take exception to the trash talker and spawn camper.

IMO, camping does not lower the game, or server standard, just the player standard.

I used to camp all of the time when bored with playing normal. I have to admit its more fun camping in a way, but i havent done it in a long time.

I dont see a problem with someone camping as long as it keeps the game fun for them.

I hate spawn campers, like the friggen plague, but they are not cheating.

I wish nobody camped, but if they ain't botting then anything goes!

It is up to the players in the game to kill the campers, not the admins.

Think about that the next time you see somebody standing patiently with a rail trying to pick off a camper and you start peppering him with blaster shots! He is only trying to help you!

I was waiting for alotta people to comment before I put my 2 cents in.Anyway ..camping in and of itself is not bad...except spawn and weapons campers...if you wanna go to a dark corner away from a weapon and camp..then fine by me.
Spawn campers bug me...dont know why...maybe because its got to be so hard to click your mouse when a spawn occurs...and here I am running around killing normal and still the pad camper wins..
So lets get this straight now...camping I think is not too bad...but pad camping and Weapons camping is lame.[In my opinion]
And I do harrass pad/weapons camps...and the occasional camper...but dont take it too serious when i give you the "Camping loser..get some skills"Just means that I noticed you not moving and drooling on a pad
