EGL here...strictly because it has the best color palette out of everything I've seen so far....I only started using GL recently.  Until I switched, I was using R1Q2 in software mode because there were NO framerate drops at all.  EGL for my setup has the best visual appeal, since it has the brightest colors, and is easy to see everything.  Also, no orange glow to everything like the other clients give off (and yes, I've tinkered with all the little "set gl_eatshit 0 commands".

umm.. how could u still get orange glow after turning off coloredlightmaps? i dont think you actually turned it off or you didn't vid_restart afterwards to actually see how it looks.

R1q2 feels just like standard quake2.

i use egl, i find it has the most features out of all clients iv used
and it has alot of r1q2 features :) though some say its bloat
it runs pretty damn fast as far as i can see

im considering switching back to r1q2 when r1ch implements same half-decent hud scaling :)
instead of the "scale everything" lazyness

i do not beleave egl has a coloredlightmap command
but the lightning is certinly much better then the rest of the clients

3.20 doesn't support loc files.
I use nocheat 2.40 since it hardly changes the game at all and it supports loc files.
I tried q2advance but the game looked totally different so I stopped using it.

I know R1Q2 is the #1 anticheat right now, but I have read it affects movement and things (see above), and I'm pretty happy with nocheat right now so I haven't switched.  Also, whats up with R1Q2 demos not being viewable with regular Q2?  I still haven't seen the PURRI demos from quakecon.

Those things aside, I think its great that someone is still actively working to perfect a Q2 anticheat.  GJ R1CH!

r1q2 is not an anticheat :) and the demo can be converte dto use in regular quake2

I'm trying to use r1q2 again, after hearing that  a 130 ping feels like 100 with this client, but theres two things that piss me off / annoy me a little.. 1 is the no support for 3dfx cards combined with r1gl, and 2 the lack of winamp control within! im aware this client isnt built for flashy gimmicks and that, but it is so useful it hurts when I dont have it =<

i used to have that problem brent, but when i changed the output plugin on winamp to a dif one (forgot which) it started working.. and if you have a really cheap sound card i dont think its possible to have two sound channels.

you dont need winamp intergrated into a client for it to work
i can have workin outside no problem

I've never been able to fix that problem...and it's not just R1Q2 either; nocheat, q2ace, EGL...all of them basically.

I mean xtyfe, just to control it within r1q2, like you can in aprq2, for example, "u" = winamp play, "i" = winampstop" "o" = shuffle through playlist
