Sgt s right about spots 2-4 being close, but I can't help putting the overrated and loved-by-media conference at the bottom. The ACC looked particularly bad from the big name schools doing so bad. Florida State, Miami, VA tech, and Louisville didn't do anything. UNC got last place in the coastal. That sort of casted a shadow over teams like Boston college, NC State, Syracuse, and Pitt doing alright.

If the big 10 and ACC faced each other(from Clemson vs Ohio State to UNC vs Rutgers, and everything in between) I think the ACC would win by a little.

The order I listed 2-4 could easily be flipped.  I felt they were even, so I just typed them in not worrying about which order I did.

Let's use this tie breaker - who is better using each conference's best team - Clemson > Oklahoma > Ohio St.

The big 12 had a decent year for their conference. The ACC had a shitty year. The big 10 had a below average year.

I gave the big 12 some credit because their offense actually looked good as a whole. The big 10 on the other hand it seemed like a lack of defense was the primary factor in their high scoring games. I know these few games don't give us too much data, but look at sec v big 10/big 12. Looks like the big 10 gets caught with their pants down against a real defense.

Did Richt get canned? I saw Paul Johnson retired.. still wondering how this Mack Brown thing will pan out for North Carolina. Waiting to see what recruits he can get

Officially, he "retired". But let's be real. Mark Richt isn't that old. Plenty of other coaches have kept coaching into their senior citizen years. It wasn't like he had accomplished all of his career goals and there was nothing left to reach for. It's safe to assume that Miami was nice enough to offer him the opportunity to retire on his own, otherwise they would've had to fire him.

I have a feeling Georgia will live to regret their decision to play Fromm instead of Fields. I don't think they would've won as many games this year playing Fields full time, but I think the experience would've paid off within the next two seasons when his arm strength increases as well. Georgia does a decent job at pass protecting, but Fromm scrambles slower than turtle shit. Having a running QB would be the one advantage they'd need to really compete with Alabama.

I went out on a limb and guessed 38-34 Clemson at work today.  Probably gonna be more high scoring than that though at this rate.

I don't celebrate when Clemson wins, but I always enjoy when Alabama loses. And by 4 fucking touchdowns too. How great is that? Way to go, Clemson. Their shit was ON POINT last night.

I almost did it. I seriously considered putting in a call to my bookmaker buddy to put a grand on Alabama to win. But something made me stop. The trend lately has been they win every OTHER year. They won last year, so I had a gut feeling they'd screw up in this one. Glad I trusted my gut.

I thought ALA would win a close game.  I would not have been shocked if Clemson won a close game.
I am  that Clemson brew out ALA by 28 points.

ALA made mistakes that turned into 14 points for Clemson.  ALA could move down the field but could not finish the drives with points.
ALA does not have a good kicker and that hurt them in this game, but it would not have been enough anyway.

With what I said above, all credit goes to Clemson for their defense making big plays and stepping up and stopping ALA when they had to.

ALA had no answers for the Clemson offense.  I can't count how many times ALA had Clemson in a 3rd and long, and Clemson's offense made a big play to keep the drive going.  The two big play receivers are both coming back (Freshman & Sophomore).  The Freshman was the top receiver in ALA last year and Clemson got him over ALA.  The top RB is coming back. The Freshman QB for Clemson looked as good as any QB I have seen all year, and he did this on the biggest stage and against top competition.

I'm not sure how great the defense will be next year (probably pretty damn good) but they are losing multiple D-line guys to the NFL.
The offense will have all their weapons.  I don't know how many O-line guys are coming back, but the offense should be great.

YES! That sucked so fucking much. The Chicago vs Philly game was one of the only NFL games I had caught start to finish all year. Chicago looked like the better team and more effective offense all game long, but those two missed field goals screwed them out of it. I was cheering for them. Maybe that's why they lost. I'm bad luck like that.

Yup, that sucked haha. I watch Mitch trubisky when I can ever since he left UNC and Chicago was actually decent this year, and on both sides of the ball. Those kicks were unreal

Focalor's prediction was lame enough to imagine, but now it's the team who got to the Superbowl on a no call vs the team who picked heads in OT as well.
