That particular 'feature' of the rating system never seemed to make a ton of sense to me. (Why should the whole topic show a negative rating just because random posts were downvoted?)

To me, it makes sense.  It's like the housing market.  When one or two "undesirables" move into the area, the whole value of the neighborhood goes down.  But it's disabled now, so whatever.

Okay so, I've seen lots of comments and even been asked by many people, how teams are going to be picked. Most worried about fairness and team stacking..

The three/four admins and refs will have discussed and divided players into 3 different groups. better players, medium skilled players, and lower tiered  players. Then a randomizor would be used to create what stands at the moment 10 teams with a high tiered, med, and low tiered players.


By doing such its going to split up the el guys, make it so 3 high tiered players aren't teamed together. That was the whole point of a draft.

So if you want to play, sign up individually here, stating your in game name or simply saying I'm in! After about a week and a half of signups and spreading the word, teams will be picked, with the help of people who know the skill and player base well. (or we could do random picking if that something you people would like to try.) If not picked at random teams will be made as fair as possible so that all players have a fun and fair experience. Know that your participation will only help us get to 4v4's and so on until better things! **Let it be known that signups are going to be completely unbiased. EVERYONE can sign up, as long as the rules are followed and you behave yourselves all will be good.**

Please guys, read the original post.  I've had countless others say the same thing over and over, and just because an eL guy is one of the admins, doesn't mean I'm stacking teams in our favor.  We don't want to be split up but until we have more people participating and we can do clan sign ups etc, eL is going to be split up.  Most of the eL guys are rated under tier 1, with like 2-3 as a tier 2, so two may end up on the same team together, but we're using a randomizer to do the picking so no one can say anything about we stacked teams.  We may intervene after the first set of matches if we feel that one team is far superior than the rest and take one of the weaker teams and do some player swapping like what was done in the ACME cup, but for the most part, we're going to make tiers, use a randomizer to make teams, and try not to touch em from there so no ONE can say we favored someones team over another or helped put a couple people together cuz we're friends with them etc.  We are going to try to make things as FAIR as possible, so please, hang onto your seats and just wait to see what happens guys.  All us admins obviously KNOW that stacked teams is going to make this thing unfun, we aren't stupid guys .  Lets try to have a great first draft and hope that there are MANY more to come!

ok, I can't keep lying anymore.  I myself, solely will be making teams and all eL's I will be putting with one another and I will be making the schedules too, so that eL will NEVER have to play against each other either!  Anyone who has an issue with this, can exclude themselves from the draft, thanks! 

PS.  I was trying to just do this last second so that way it was like a curve ball and we could still hopefully have everyone still play!

PSS.  OK, this post is completely false.  Teams will be made as FAIR as POSSIBLE.  Teams will NOT be stacked, contrary to popular belief

Well Erica said from the beginning that the teams weren't going to be stacked, so I don't see what the whole commotion is about. I'm more interesting to know what the tournament format is; Group play, single elimination or double elimination?

I know I am in the minority for this position, but I refuse to budge on this complicated issue.

Right now we have i think 30 or almost 30 players. So we will have 10 teams, i suppose we could do a double elim, if people were into that, i'll have to discuss this with other admins.

The way i figured it going was teams would be made, they will be thrown into a challonge bracket, randomized to see what team plays what team, and was just gonna do single elim, first round games get a week to be played, and semis and finales would hopefully get played in a weekend .

30 damn people. You'da told me a couple weeks ago you could've had 30 people signed up for a league, I'da told you you were nuts. I'll tell ya what. If more people sign up and you happen to need one more to make teams even, I guess I could maybe join in, but only if it's necessary.
