Suggestion(s) for future tourneys

Either:

A --> Have a draft. 10 best players draft their teams starting from the worst captain until every captain picks their teams.

B --> Attempt to rank every player 1-30 (1 best, 30 worst) and then make teams with that scale. It would either be 1/11/30, 2/12/29, 3/13/28 etc.. or 1/20/21, 2/19/22, 3/18/23 etc..

Over @ Acme we use a draft and it works well (don't like your team? Blame the captain!) but it would be hard to co-ordinate with 10 captains.

No offense Killo, (actually fuck it, take offense) but that is absolutely retarded. First of all, if you had an issue with Ani being barred for his multiple explosions against the admins running the tourney (maybe get mad at ani for exploding first btw), then you should've pulled out before the draft teams were picked. Second, Rick says they picked teams randomly, so I believe him until otherwise. Lastly, there are going to be better teams and worse teams. Did you really think that randomly picking teams was going to produce 12 perfectly evenly distributed teams? Keep in mind, we started with team signups, where people were trying to produce 2-3 super teams. And even if they aren't fair, who the fuck cares? Does that mean they're going to win for sure? If you don't want to play, because you're scared about losing before a single round is played, then... good riddance. Glad you're not on my squad.

. We could prolly def use you for sure at some point if you'd like to play.

We might try something like that next time Target, this is obviously the first one and is a huge learning curve. We tried the tier system to try to make it as fair as possible and of course, many people said we hand picked teams. We didn't...but whatev, hopefully we have some good games and have fun

. We could try to add those suggestions in for the next one for sure, as they are good ideas. Cuz I know personally am losing my shit over hearing people whine about stacked teams and Erica was just as well about to pull her hair out. So once we play this and everyone can see how everyone is going to do on a COMPETITIVE level, not PUB play, we could possibly do captains etc. We were just trying to make things fair(i swear, i've said this word over 800x the last week) and to make it a fun thing and have countless more. I hope everyone who has joined has a great time and that they sign up for the next one. And that more people come back and have fun!

However, looking at these teams closely, I can see any team winning a match set against any other team on a given day.

There's not one team I see on the list that I feel would for sure dominate based on just the cumulative total of the individual player's skills taken in consideration with their respective ra2 experience. Also, the teams I think will do well are probably not even the ones some people might considered unbalanced.

I think people are going to be as surprised as I was with the amount of people that actually signed up for this first draft. I didn't think we'd get 20 people but we got 35ish. But with the different maps/playing styles/and whatever strats each team put into play, I think many teams that people are thinking are underdogs, could potentially be the better teams. We shall see

the purpose of this is to grow the mod and keep ra2 / quake alive and relevant. just play killo, and let ani play, theres no reason to keep him banned after hes played a couple pub matches with a sane head. grow the mod and drop the drama

I got a PM from Rick last night asking me to sub. Already replied to the PM, but I guess I could do it here too in case other admins wanna get clued in about it quicker. Had some PC issues last night. My PSU went bad. After a VERY lengthy and annoying search which made me quite angry, I think I've found a suitable replacement PSU. But I've still got a few issues with it that could probably prevent me from playing this weekend. All should be completely resolved by Monday though. So I am still willing to sub for any team as long as no matches are scheduled until Monday.

Phil I didn't explode and I certainly didn't explode first. Is it so hard to believe that rick was talking shit? I mean even after all of this happened isn't he still talking shit every night? Calling people faggots (bundles of sticks), idiots, spamming loltr etc? rick is the biggest and oldest troll in ra2. he just came back from being banned for fucking with someone too hard. hes an admitted asshole (not that that's needed) and the worst when it comes to team stacking. Are people really surprised to think that rick would stack the teams? All the admins got solid teams while the rest just seem thrown together. Target earlier in this thread said he thought 3 teams stuck out, I agree with 2 of those teams being stacked and im sure others do to. killo gets crucified for saying it but target doesn't.

So much ego and unfairness and you wonder why so many people have pmmed rick as far as teams being stacked. Kudos to Killo for standing up against the "popular kids" who look down on everyone else.
You guys love to run around saying how much work you did for everyone else but the truth is you did this tourney for you just to say you did it. Next time you try something like this maybe get the average player more involved, the guy that plays purely for the love of the game, the guy that never shit talks, the guy who more represents todays ra2 player and not you ego maniacs who love to power trip.
Heres another idea, let the people who play vote in the admins..............

All that being said, I really do hope the people who play have fun and I hope this leads to some sort of 4 man team tourney in the near future.
