Must be a cajun/hickabilly thing, cuz I think Tabasco sauce in any form is disgusting.  Vinegar, meh.  Shit is too strong imo.  Then again, fire sauce at taco bell is too hot for me so maybe it's just because I'm a soft faggot (bundle of sticks) that can't handle anything hot. 

I think it's just that you don't like spicy food. The Taco Bell fire sauce is more like a medium to mild hot sauce in my opinion, nowhere NEAR hot enough to ever realistically be considered "hot". You wanna talk about truly HOT shit, try some of that spicy mustard stuff they often serve at chinese restaurants. That shits a whole different kind of hot. You eat it and it really doesn't taste hot on the tongue, but then you breathe out through your nose while chewing it and lights your sinuses up like lava and literally blinds you for a few seconds. That shit ain't tasty eating in my opinion. It's just pain and misery, lol.

the hottest sauce in my cabinet is "Dave's Gourmet - Temporary Insanity"... I think the sauce with the world record is 7:1 in potency in comparison to it.

That horseradish mustard(or whatever it is) ain't shit. I've eaten it plain a bunch haha. I have always enjoyed spicy shit though.

But seriously "Dave's Gourmet - Temporary Insanity". It's not pricey; if you're brave/don't mind drinking milk on the rocks for 30 minutes after, consume a few drops in a teaspoon or something haha.

TBH I like eating actual peppers with meals nowadays.  I enjoyed Thai chilies recently (50,000–100,000 Scoville Heat Units), they're tasty.  I like Arbol chilies quite a bit as well (15,000-30,000 SHU).  I also love orange Habaneros (100,000 – 350,000 SHU), but man the Red Savina Habaneros (250,000-580,000 SHU), definitely not ones you fuck around with.  They taste so incredibly good at first but the heat!  :>

Of course, when I really wanna turn it up full-blast, I break out my ghost chili jar.  Ghost chilis rank as one of the hottest peppers in the world, sitting anywhere from 330,000–1,041,427 SHU - they have quite the range depending on growing conditions.  The flavor of them is incredible as well - and the ones in the jar actually have less flavor (and heat) than the fresh ones.  It's hard to find raw ghost chilies.

For some reason, the hotter a pepper gets, the more amazing the taste of the pepper is as well.  What I mean is with your basic Bell pepper, pretty much 0 Capsaicin, it just has a nice basic sweet flavor.  A Jalapeno (2,500 – 10,000 SHU) has a nice, dark flavor I'd say.  With Habaneros, that flavor changes over to this strange citrusy effect that's actually good as fuck.  With ghost chilis, it tastes straight-up floral - like I'm getting punched in the mouth with citrus fruits and flowers.  It kinda sucks that they get so damn hot so quick, because I love the actual flavor.

I just hate the shits you have the next day, usually.  Your ass burns hotter than 2dum's after a finger fest.  :>


BTW, below is a good Scoville scale.  I haven't been able to try the Trinidad Moruga Butch T (1,000,000 - 1,463,700 SHU), but that thing is supposed to be a whole new level of burning hell compared to the ghost chili.  And what's terrible is that's not even the hottest pepper on Earth.  The Trinidad Moruga Scorpion, currently the hottest pepper in the world, can actually be as low as 350,000 SHU when grown improperly, but it averages 1,200,000 Scoville units, and the hottest pepper ever tested was a blistering 2,009,231 SHU!  Roughly twice as hot as the hottest ghost chili.  I read about how the workers had to wear full body suits and face masks, gloves, etc., and even with that, the pepper is so ungodly strong, the Capsaicin went through the pores in the gloves and burned their hands.  They had to keep changing gloves several times per hour.  They reported a numbness in their hands that wouldn't go away for over two days.  Incredible.

Tapatio has a nice flavor on it.  It's not very hot (to me), but then again Tabasco sauce isn't anymore either.  I eat way too many of those ghost chilies nowadays.  :>

Interesting, I've never seen that here in Texas.  Might have to take a vacation to New Orleans again and look for it.  Been there twice and also went to the McIlhenny plant once.  Picked up all sorts of different Tabasco variants there.   

BTW, Rick you are a pussy if you can't handle Tabasco sauce.  It's not very hot at all.  And the vinegar is what makes it taste great - vinegar is something that makes some of the best tastes in the world.  Balsamic vinegar is key to making an excellent Italian salad.  Splash that and some olive oil, fucking fantastic!  Peppers that are jarred always have vinegar in them, because it makes them taste better.  You are weird on this issue.  :>

BTW, I can't eat pizza without Tabasco sauce anymore.  Or Ramen for that matter.  Or boiled eggs, enchiladas, beans & rice, chili & rice, fuck damn near everything.     Of course, habaneros go damn good with Mexican food I notice.  ;>
