EDL is most prestigious duel competition in quake2 world so:

If EDL crew take your advice :

- EDL accept players who got caught on AC server using cheat as legit players
- EDL not accept Rich anticheat protection and all violation recorded on AC server as proof of cheat
- EDL not accept videos with recorded wallhack from official demos as proof of cheat
- EDL accept videos that does not contain evidence of the case being examined (after fact videos)

since EDL crew is part of q2scene crew

consequences:
all players caught cheating from past must be rehabilitated because same evidence r not acceptable anymore
because they will all produce videos in latest games where they r not cheating

If EDL crew kick/ban David:

- EDL/q2scene admin crew work from past season is questionable so that open door on other cases they didn't investigate because of their arrogance
- EDL/q2scene admin crew work from this season is questionable because why they wait so long to investigate violations during group stage
- EDL/q2scene admitting own incompetence (David AC violations goes 2 years back)


Welkin EDL head admin already showed he fallow 'own rules'

- q2dm2 must get in EDL by any coast (victims match1, q2rdm7 and q2rdm1)
- Fader got 'special permission' for APRQ2 client banned 2009 from q2scene as illegal
- ventrilo suspected crew not allowed on server when Welkin playing

File size (uncompressed) - 86.4MB

File transfer from camcroder to pc - 17 seconds

Compression time with handbrake from .mov to .mp4 - 3:08

File size after compression - 69.5mb (weird outcome, normally it compresses it to maybe 1mb) Don't know what happened there

None the less to upload a 70mb file to youtube with a 0.86Mbps upload speed would take 15 minutes


A 90 minute timeline is very possible. if i wanted to compress the file into windows movie maker or sony vegas i could get the file size down a lot more instead of uploading 80mb file

who cares about the video sizes and quality?

the times dependes on the camera settings, computer specs, programs used, internet connection, etc etc etc...

ya know... i just have to point it out... you could actually just have something like a dual monitor set up, and have one spectating with a wallhack off camera lol or mabye the spectating one is the one you want to record and the legit one has a really low fov aimbot, would probably take practice to play with both screens in view, but mouse movements and everything would pretty much sync up

the only way to prove your legitimacy really is to do it at a lan with a regulation computer like they do at qcon every year lol

guys, David won EDL in a legit way, and it was proved.
We dont know about his past.
All we know is that he is good enough to win EDL in a legit way.

.Avi format are the largest type for videos. So assuming his cam corder records in .avi a 15 minute recording would be anything from 900mb to 2GB depending. So it would take anywhere between 10-15 minutes for a single 1GB file to transer from a cam corder to your PC. Then to condense a 1GB file with lets say handbrake, it would take between 20-40 minutes. handbrake converts a video file to a .mp4 format which is a very good file type to condense it to for example a 1GB file would condense into say maybe 1 or 2 MB. The problem is, if david converted it to say any other file type apart from a .avi file, when admin recieved the file they would have had to of converted it back to an avi file to be able to edit it in vdub. So for a single 15 minute file you are looking at about 40 minutes to an hour of mucking with it on its own. So the 90 minute upload after the game does not make sense to me especially when he has 9 videos in total each about 12 minutes long. unless as i said, he has a super fast pc or his cam corder records in mp4 format, which i doubt it would, but you never know

It seems like you're all in such denial over David winning, you're trying to think of every single (im)possible scenario where he WOULD HAVE cheated.

What are you people trying to find out? The specs of the camera he recorded?!

Nobody got special permission to use any client. I wouldn't even be surprised if there were tons of other people who were using AprQ2 as well.

And just because it was banned in one season in a completely different league doesn't mean it was banned in another as well.

the vast majority of the people that have posted in this thread. mostly americans, just aren't in a position to form a good opinion on this subject. It's hard to tell someone to stfu because of that, and I avoid doing so because I want everyone to be able to say what they wish to say. . . but now that many of you have literally demonstrated to me the fact that you can't formulate a good opinion about this subject, please stop embarrassing us, me, etc... I've been biting my tongue for over a week now reading some of the posts here, because replying to them specifically would likely not achieve the results I want. This goes for just about everyone too, even if you look right next to someone who is just really, really wrong... guess what, you likely aren't right either.

So yeah, next time any of you post... do so willingly that you may get your post deleted or you may get a dose of brutal honesty. Don't be worried though really, because all of you are so knowledgeable with this area.

Well unless you have a super fast upload speed of like 150 Mbps (which is the fastest in the world currently from what i have read) It would take a bit longer than a few minutes.

World average upload speed is between 1Mbps to 5Mbps so taking it on that figure it would still take a few hours to upload a 1GB file to youtube. I remember on my old connection i was getting  under 1Mbps upload and it would take 10 hours to upload a 1gb q2 file to youtube

oh well i got 22 Mbps upload

i don't think he cheated in the EDL final, hes a good player regardless of if he cheats or not and im not surprised he beat purri with how purri has been playing... that is not the issue, the final was played after this thread had started

a few points to consider(so people aren't so divided on this issue):

- most of the david v. purri GF matches looked like practice/friendly matches, as I've already pointed out... it was far from the pinnacle of duel competition in q2
- "nerves" is not an explanation for the aforementioned lack of competitive mindset I described in the purri v. david GF... the style clash of an out of practice purri v. how david plays provides a better explanation for this.
- nerves are only so much of an excuse anyway. Spawn probability would provide a better excuse than nerves when we're not seeing a truly serious/in-practiced highest level duel.
- A dual monitor setup is possible.
- David cheating in the past is possible, and even questionable considering suspicions both in-game and on the AC hall of shame.
- Taking a stance either way with the information present, is stupid. Notice how I haven't taken a stance.

I am not a duel player and don't pretend to be an expert on the subject.  I have followed this thread and 100 % agree with
