2v2 tourney $$$$

yep, the map has quad by default. if the map name in console has 'tourney' in it, then it's using the override without the quad.

if the admin(s) wanted, they could scrap the override and just have +/-pu votable. apart from the quad, there's not much difference between the default and tourney layouts.

Actually, they both are:

-rw-r--r-- 1 quake quake2       46527 2011-12-21 09:12 opentdm/maps/bloodrun.bsp.override

What this means is, when voting "bloodrun" on an opentdm server you always get the tourney override.  Whereas elsewhere such as on vanilla, the original map is chosen.

I see what you mean. When I boot up the map offline quad shows up...but on tourney/tourney2 it doesn't show up for some reason. It doesn't matter if I change the modes or turn on the powerups.

Going a bit off-topic though... what's the deal with no quad in Q2 TDM anyway? Pro TDMs in Q3/QL always allowed powerups, but over there you know when the powerup is taken or has spawned, it has a 2 minute respawn time, 3x damage instead of 4x and a delay at the start of the match - would it be more appealing in Q2 with those kind of qualities?

@Barton: yes the long-name, not the map name. So without the quad it'll show 'Blood Run Tourney' and with it it'll be just 'Blood Run'. You can copy over the tourney override from the zip file (bloodrun-entities/tourney/bloodrun.bsp.override) into your maps folder and if you're running something like R1Q2 then it'll use the override.

we play with quad in 3v3 and 4v4, SOME maps in 2v2, never in 1v1 though... but its all the same mod, so we just vote it out when necessary

one minute respawn for 4 times damage is perfectly fine in q2 the only thing thats a total pain is the invul but it respawns every 5 so its not that over powered
