Yep, I am going to host a 2v2 q2 tourney with cash prizes. I'm floating a currently undisclosed amount from my tax refund, and will accept donations....

things to discuss:

-date
-payout percentages
-maps
-amount of teams allowed

I already know what I'm going to do with these for the most part, but I still want to get everyone's opinions...

1st: 60%
2nd: 30%
3rd: 10%

^payouts will be something like that.

i am going to dominate this, you know i'm always up for a tournament, always signing up always turnin up but noone ever dares step to the plate. hopefully cash will provide an adequate incentive. feed your family boys!

payout %: 1st: 50% 2nd 35% 3rd 15%
maps: q2rdm2, q2dm1, q2dm2, q2dm3, q2dm6 (srs), tastydm2?
amounts of teams; 10, 12 max

Don't we still need to finish the other 2v2 tourney? It would seem like we should finish that one before we go off and have another one.

On topic: I'll definitely be a part of it if things get going. I'll have to smack Kickro around a bit when he's on so I can tell that mofo to play more.

EDIT: I'll offer my worthless opinion for once.

Date: Late/Early afternoons on weekdays, variable on weekends.
Payout: 1st 55%, 2nd 30%, 3rd 15%
Maps: q2dm1, ztn2dm3, q2dm2, colour, q2dm7
Teams allowed: Realistically... around 6-8. 10 if we're lucky.

fader: as of now you aren't allowed to participate in this. there is no "we", and the old tourney is in the past. you can PM me in IRC and discuss this with me if you wish, not on this thread(that goes for everyone else too).

would like to suggest having torment and rdm2 in the map pool

probably not maps more like dm3 or stuff that play better with 4v4 or at least 3v3...

I will help with a donation! I will match 25% of all donations/total purse up to $50 . I will also help admin/referee any matches that you need help with Jesse.
If at all possible keeping this tournament on North American servers would be ideal Any Euro teams that want to join must play in Texas

Are these usually best of three? How are map picks decided?

Glad to see all the interest...(and the interest in possible donations).

pretty sure it's going to be a 5 map list, each team throws away one, then the remaining 3 will be the ones you play, if it goes to 3 maps that is..(stage striking/map bans). The person who bans first, will get to choose the first map played. Then the other team gets to counterpick with one of the remaining two... whomever wins the coinflip will decide if they want to ban first or not(you can make the other team do so if not).

the only shoe-ins so far are dm1 and ztn2dm3......after that, likely dm3. so we'll determine the other 2-3 from ppl's input and polls probably.

Torment and Chastity are way too rail-based. Besides, if it was a 1v1 tourney, I'd love to see the Chastity belt DUEL. But this is 2v2, however.

No more than one rail whoring map, I'd say. I'd choose torment over rdm2 though.
