In the past few days, 3 major corporations have bought out parts of other companies in separate $1 Billion deals.

Microsoft bought out some AOL patents, Facebook bought Instagram, and AT&T sold Yellow Pages.

Yeah this acquisition was a shocker. Instragram kept their team very small but very smart (~9 employees), good for decreasing burn rate. One founder retained 40% after investment dilution so this cat walked out with $400 million in facebook stock. Pretty good deal without a revenue stream or viable business model.

Anyways...
I've been following their engineering blog for quite some time now, and it's an absolute goldmine for performance and scalability tips. I'm in the process of transitioning to Amazon's cloud services.

Linda Hamilton, who plays Sarah Connor, has an identical twin. Her twin played her double in various scenes, including when T-1000 impersonates her.

Linda Hamilton was married to James Cameron.

In Soldier Kurt Russel got paid $12 million & said 104 words. That's ~$115,385 per WORD!

I was just making fun of it because CON sounds like KHAAAAAN!!!!

There's a bunch of reserved words in windows. This also includes many characters. In fact windows folders allow you to use a surprising amount of special characters in their names, except for a select few reserved ones.

that makes sense

con being the general file for console input.... like if you wanted to copy something directly from console into a file you can just do copy con file.txt type out your shit, ctrl^Z i think and tada.... cant backspace lines though

once you hit enter the line is committed... not the best thing in the world but it has its uses

been awhile since i used it... other one i use often is nul, so if you dont want output from something stupid, sending it to nul works, an example would be that people tend to use ping localhost > nul as a timer in batch scripting

others on that page... never used aux or prn, and the rest are just device names, though im sure they have their specialized uses i havent had a need for them yet
