has there been confirmation of this? maybe he was just tired of all the attention, took a break for a while came back and aliased and hasn't revealed who he is? maybe even moved onto another game perhaps

he plays as sidelines at dm! 

lol doubt he is sidelines. if it was he would play tdm i would imagine but sidelines only plays on DM

sidelines doesnt seem as good as all the highlights from dael but it is just ffa afterall...

and it was already found out that sidelines isnt just in the same country as dael but hes on the same subnet...

however, no one knows for sure if its him or not, and there is some small things here and there that dont add up

but sidelines is the most likely person to be dael just wanting to chill and be left alone

yeah i am now convinced sidelines is daelmun i like watching sidelines in spec and have watched him alot, he is very impressive. i would say he just wants to be left alone. i asked him one day if he could teach me to jump, he replied "i don't speak english" and he speaks perfect english. so yeah it is him i bet

1) daelmun wouldn't just disappear. I used to talk to the guy all the time
2) those closest to him, that play q2 in Norway and close by, say that death is the only explanation
3) Completely aside from this info.. I am 100% sure sidelines is not him.

Being active in something and then all of a sudden being not active isn't so far fetched, and doesn't need a whole ton of explanation.

Sometimes things happen, and this is, afterall, just a video game.

I stopped playing for 7 years and came back, and there are only two active players that I remember from that long ago - pepp5 and Optica.  I am re-addicted to this game, and walking away from it would be hard, but who knows what will happen in the future?

Maybe sidelines is really daelmun, and he's trying not to be noticed.  If so how are you sure it's not him?

Then he specifically says it's weird when people disappear.  I'm going to have to say to many coincides between daelmun and sidelines.

Anyway, to make it clear the only reason I aliased on zone when playing at work was that I was starved on quake2 after being offline for several months. And I wanted to play q2 on servers as much as possible during that hour and a half or so I had the chance to play. And not talking about where I had been, what I was doing and how I was doing etc  Cut the crap, I wanted to play!

that statement said he would just go without telling anybody where he had gone. and i would also note that sidelines just hjappens to play for ages then dissapear for days if not months at a time then returns, i spose alot of players do that but there are just too many coincidences as reaper said

no it isn't him, and he's dead. erik(daelmun) was a good boy, not in jail or anything... I've already explained this a few times to people, and there actually IS some proof of his death. But I just don't feel like posting personal shit about daelmun that I've gotten from other people(including the person who was closest to him through q2, gren) so I guess you guys can speculate all you want about someone you didn't know(let alone play q2 with), if you really want to. I won't discourage it anymore, I promise.

if anything i'm glad sidelines is at least making people think of him.
