This is my '88 Trabant. Lovely East German car--all stock at the moment. I've pulled the hood for this shot so you can see the powerplant, to which will be added a Briggs & Stratton 6 hp for a boost on hills. Not as quick as a Yugo, I know, but try stuffing the cabbage and vodka you waited in line for all day into the back of a Yugo, CHUMP!

What IS that cylindrical thing at the front? And is that a gas grill or an engine block?

I like cars, but mainly for reliability and good design, so I'm a big Japanese auto fan. Anyway, my vehicles are purely functional: 2000 Acura and 98 Nissan King Cab (wow, what a tin can the latter is, but it refuses to die).
