hey if you really wanna know what i drive then this is it:
'91 Ford Meteor. stock all the way. a real piece of shit but it doesn't drive to badly and its really reliable.
'89 VW Golf. got Sony XPlode 6'x9's, Sony sub, Sony MP3, etc. still a piece of shit tho.
and finally the biggest piece of shit ... a Toyota Stallion 1 ton pickup. i need that for picking up stuff for my job. its great fun to drive though, but expensive on the fuel. i don't even know exactly what the details of the engine is. i know its not stock but I know its a Toyota engine. i think it was a 1.6 bored out to a 1.7 or some crap like that. hell knows.

but my ultimate car to own one day is the Mitsubishi Lancer Evo VIII. well, more like the Evo XIII by the time i can afford one

and nice wheels husker. is that a 5-speed or 6-speed? 6-speed whips ass. i personally am more of a fan of Honda's S2000 tho, but still, they're both brilliant cars. a friend told me he has a Mazda Etude with a RX8 engine. i haven't seen it though. and i don't know how he pulled that off.

Mine is the Cooper S, so it's the supercharged model, rated at like 168HP according to Mini. Mine has a 6 speed manual, limited-slip differential, sport package [which includes xenon headlamps, 17" wheels (which I'll probably change sooner than later as I'm not too crazy about em), dynamic stability control, front fog lamps, and hood/bonnet stripes, which I chose not to go with as I had just spent 8+ years with a truck that had em], the multifunction steering wheel, which is required for cruise control, has radio controls on it too, and a rear fog lamp.

It comes standard with power mirrors, locks, windows, an am/fm 6-speaker stereo w/ CD player with MP3 capability, manual air-conditioning, etc.

As far as driving it, it's a blast to drive. I find it to be quite quick, and that's coming from driving the V8 Dakota pictured in the rear, that ran high 14's in the 1/4. It handles remarkably, in fact I believe it's speed through the slalom for example, is better than anything shy of a porsche turbo. Largely due to it's wide stance, and light weight, etc.

Only has like 1400 miles on it now, but so far I'm very pleased with it. I've been driving it sorta hard, flooring it often, still having fun with it, so I've only been getting around 24MPG, a lot better than my trucks 15MPG from your daily ho-hum driving. Supposedly I'd get 30-35MPG on the highway on longer commutes.

Check out www.northamericanmotoring.com for a message board filled with current, and wannabe MINI owners. And check out www.miniusa.com if you would like to custom configure your own and see how much it would cost. It's one of the most customizable cars I think from the factory. Has like over 100 options at least.

Oh, and as far as price goes. Unless things have changed in the past 2-3 months, you basically have to pay MSRP for them. Dealers aren't having any trouble selling them at all, and in some areas of the country there is, or was a waiting list still. So it's highly unlikely you'll be able to get a better deal on a new one at least. They also are said to hold their value better than any other car sold in the US currently.

And as a note, I'm 6' 2", and I fit very comfortably in the front seats. Although someone of my height would probably be not too comfortable in the back for any length of time. There's plenty of space for the 2 people up front, lots of head room, and plenty of leg room too. It's deceivingly roomy inside, for such a small car. The rear seat folds down too, so as long as it's just 1 or 2 people, you have quite a bit of room to store luggage, golf bags, etc.

Supposedly there's a guy on the above mentioned NAM forums that's 6' 7" and he fits comfortably in it he says.

I have a 93 Civic Ex coupe...

b16 swap with the normal bolt ons....and it's prepped for a huge turbo I'll be putting on soon (not built, just engine management, fuel pump, 450cc injectors....stuff like that)

Also have a mild suspension setup...rides like stock but is very tight on the corners (H&R sports on KYB AGX shocks.....1.75'' drop)...strut bar, GSR rear disc brake conversion with powerslot rotors and Hawk HPS pads, rear tie bar, GSR rear sway bar.......and stuff.

Right now I would guess that it puts out 170-175 bhp from 1.6 liters....with the turbo I'm shooting for 300+ on under 10 psi.

Soon the torqueless beast motor (111 tq at 7800 rpm

) shall have some decent power! Shooting for 12's!
