I know all about the church of satan. Who told you jesus was a white bearded man? Jesus was of jew. So he wouldn't have been white skinned at least. white beard? maybe or it could have been grey. All those images you see especially in Catholicism comes under idolatry. And if you are referring to god having a beard, GOD is a spirit

Actually there are many scientist who started out believing the big bang theory, but after years of their own study and research have converted to believing the creation account of the bible.

You keep using that word. I do not think it means what you think it means.

To be more specific

Science (from Latin scientia, meaning "knowledge"[2]) is a systematic enterprise that builds and organizes knowledge in the form of TESTABLE explanations and predictions about the universe.

Can you test the big bang theory? NO

Everything that has a beginning has cause. What caused the big bang? Let's hear it.

If you can't answer the question, why should my tax payer dollars be used to fund the notion of an untestable, un causable beginning to the creation of the universe.

I know all about the church of satan.

Uh. No, you don't. You know exactly JACK and SHIT about it if you ask questions like "How there can be Satan without God?"

Hint: Answer this question using your previous question as a kinda-sorta reference point - If God isn't actually real (what I've been saying all along), then what would that make Satan?

This is precisely why I have no fucking use for that "religion" anymore. The taboo nature of the imagery and symbolism keeps the closed-minded dummies out, but it also becomes a liability when you wear it on your sleeve like I always did. You end up having to explain to people that "No, I don't kill babies and drink blood.", which gets old as FUCK after you have to have the same conversation 500 times. And a lot of people still don't get it after you do. They lack the ability to see it from any other perspective than their retarded Christian viewpoint. In their completely bonkers opinion based on ABSOLUTELY NOTHING that I just explained to them and based on ABSOLUTELY EVERYTHING that they already made up their minds about before I ever started talking because they're narrow minded pinheads, I really AM worshiping the devil himself and apparently... I'm somehow being deceived into thinking that I'm really not? :D How the fuck does that work? And that point you just gotta realize that the person talking to you is convinced that you're totally fucking stupid, which is pretty damned insulting when you get right down to it. And at that point your two best options are to either punch them in the fucking face as hard as you can, or just fucking walk away mid-sentence, forget the whole thing ever happened, and make every plan to NEVER talk to that asshole ever again.

For this reason, the religion becomes a liability. I don't mind having to rub elbows with narrow minded feebs now and again. But I prefer to control things a little more and not have them automatically thinking I'm an idiot or crazy or both so that they'll be more cooperative and receptive to me when I want might something from them.

There's other reasons I won't specifically get into regarding the asshole fags running that shit shop at the top, as well as other members in the lower ranks, and that comprised close to the other 50% of the reason why I resigned my membership in that retard circus.

Hmm, on the other hand. MAYBE I'M LYING! Maybe I really DO worship the devil himself and I'm just trying to get you to fall from grace like Lucifer did!

Meh. Yeah, that would be pretty fucking stupid. On the other hand, that's precisely what you think about this whole episode anyway. OOoooooooo, talking snakes! You people are so cute!

That was a great point there. Really.  :smiley_abfr:

Would that be a monotheistic religion? Just wanna know where I fit in on this chart you have. Thanks for shoving me on it without my permission, that was mighty white of you. Nyagh. Hummada hummada. Sorry, was speaking in tongues for a second there, I guess that's what people in my religion do... apparently. Actually, I prefer the term moneytheistic. I'm all about some money.

Yyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyeah. Cuz I also, too, in addition to you, remember the point at which I said I wasn't religious. Right?

Me: (noun) The person who apparently said I wasn't religious.

Good lord, man. What kindsa other shit am I apparently telling you that I have no recollection at all of telling you? I didn't tell you about the dead guy, did I? Shit, I hope not. Nobody's supposed to know about that one.

what you don't realize is that you are religious because it is your belief there is no god

Again, belief is distinct from lack of belief.

Does your lack of belief in invisible garden faeries make you religious?

Your atheism is a religion.

So we've covered this in detail. You're wrong on the facts.

Here's what you don't get to do, Tubby.

You don't get to behave as though you're engaging people in a reasoned debate, get shown in detail why one of your positions is blatantly factually incorrect, then just press the reset button and go back to parroting the same untruth as though the debate never happened.

I'll give you an example, from my side:

When you replied to one of my posts, challenging me with new information that the New Testament term 'slave' was mistranslated from the Hebrew, and should more correctly be akin to 'bondservant', what did I do?

First, I researched your claim. And when my research turned up enough support for your assertion to make it seem plausible that you could be correct on that point, I took in that new information. And I stopped making arguments hinging on the term 'slave' in the New Testament. Because that's what rational people do.

What I did NOT do, is pretend your correction never happened, press rewind, and go right back to repeating my original claim that the New Testament allows Christians to be slave owners. To do so would have been intellectually dishonest on my part.

Time for you to uphold similar standards on your end.

Starting here:

Do you or do you not understand how lack of belief is different from belief? If you disagree, then be specific.

I suppose to some, quibbling over the term 'belief' as applied to scientific understanding might seem an exercise in semantics. But 'believing' in a theory would be a liability in science.

I simply disagree with that statement and here is my reason why....

If You don't believe there is no god then why have you sat here for days putting up the argument against there being a god? Simple fact is you wouldn't have wasted so much time doing so. Just like if scientist believe in their big bang beginning of the universe.

Point is If you invest so much time into trying to prove something that you don't believe in then you are a fool and shouldn't expect anyone else to follow it, like the big bang, and you should also not force it in schools as being truthful that's even worse

I will give you another example of where i'm coming from. For arguments sake, say you went to university to study. You picked the university you believed was best to gain the skills you needed later on in life. You spend money, you spend a lot of time on it. Would you have gone through all that if you didn't believe you wouldn't gain higher learning and gain the skills that you needed?

Anyone who spends so much time and money on something they don't truly believe in is a fool, no one else should be foolish enough to believe in it either

The big bang theory, because it claims that something came from nothing, is completely foolish. (Which is a gross oversimplification and omission of certain facts concerning the theory, but fuck it, let's go with that.)

And yet... the theory that an invisible spirit you've never SEEN just waved it's arms and made everything from nothing (which is not an oversimplification or misunderstanding of facts about the theory at all), that's not even on the same planet as foolish.

Oh yeah. Sure. Brilliant! I'm sold. Where do I sign and who do I give my money to?

Its not an over simplification at all. Scientist BELIEVE that something exploded from nothing, they also BELIEVE order and design comes from an explosion. Everything that has a beginning has a cause. tell me what caused the big bang? scientist have been scratching their heads on this one since they started believing in it, and still can't answer the question, and i am guessing you can't either

Uh, yeah, it IS an oversimplification. The theory doesn't state that the "stuff" which exploded was not there, because if they postulated that NOTHING just up and exploded one day, that would defeat the whole purpose of science entirely. The theory states there was SOMETHING there. What happened to cause that SOMETHING to be there in the first place, they don't really have a theory about that presently that I know of.

Furthermore, no one reputable in the realm of science would dare call the universe "orderly". They pretty unanimously agree that the universe is downright fucking chaotic. There are certain laws of physics that govern how things act, but shit in the great beyond of outer space is far from "order". Planets get consumed by their parent stars, black holes consume everything around them including light, asteroids and meteors pummel into one another to sometimes destroy planets and sometimes coalesce to form planets. It's a god damn free-for-all in this universe. And the word "design"? Well that kinda lends itself to assume that there is a designer. And since there isn't one, isn't impossible to prove or disprove a designers existence scientifically. There is no variable to test. See Quadz's garden fairy theory for more on that.

It's called culture. You see, there's several different races within the human species. We're not all just one color, we don't all look the same, and we don't all live in the same geographical location. Fascinating stuff, I know. But what seems to happen... is that when people live in a certain area, over time they develop their own traditions, customs, and languages. Fast forwarding a bit... thus people coming from cultures where the predominate religion is of the Judeo-Christian variety adopting figures of speech like "God dammit!", "Jesus fucking Christ!", and "Where's the beef?", just like people in certain cultures where the predominate religion is NOT of the Judeo-Christian variety consider it an insult if you wave hello or goodbye at them with your left hand because it's traditionally the hand they wipe their shitty asses with. Cultures! Differences! What a kookie world we live in!

Uh, yeah, it IS an oversimplification. The theory doesn't state that the "stuff" which exploded was not there,

Oh really? What you don't seem to grasp is where did the stuff that caused the big bang come from? Even if they figured out what caused the big bang (which they never will) then you have to figure out what caused the cause, then what caused the cause that caused the big bang. You see there is a major problem here and that is why I have been saying all this time that they believe something comes from nothing, because ultimately nothing would have had to have caused the big bang, unless of course they turn around and say the universe was always there, which they can't because they believe it exploded itself into existance, and there goes nearly all their theories like billions of years and evolution ect

So in the beginning nothing existed that caused an explosion is what scientist ultimately believe.

I don't worship the devil. Jesus is Lord, friend. He died for your sins. He will forgive you if you just ask.
