Hehe, why just don't you show me it (the jump you just described) on a demo or something so I can see it myself, I thought you were refferring to the jump from gl to mega in general.

As for jumpmod, I played it and loved it a lot back on when I was back on zone when I was totally new to q2/fps in general (played on !EAT!'s server and jolt (progamer/wireplay), primarily to increase my jumping skills as I always considered movement a vital part of the game.

Now I barely play it (allthough I see my old zone friend Craig/Kingsize play it all the time), I feel like I can do the jumps I want(jumpmod is great for getting consitancy on jumps) and rather play tdm which I find a lot more fun and a whole lot less frustrating. Besides, I rather work on maprelated movement than jumping on jumpmod, trying to move fluently/smoothly on maps, as well as mastering the usefull trickjumps. Jumpmod is eating time like no other mod, besides it's 100x more frustrating than any other mod I've played.

Well, I play jumpmod at times when noone else is playing q2 and I need to play it, but then it's mostly on my own host. I'm not particulary good either, has no nerves to do the last part of maps where I know I will screw everything up if I miss

ah, I do it in 2 jumps.One jump to get speed, and one to get from the corner to RG. From the rockets-room side.

I gotchya, I usually do it in 3.. Harder in 2, I'll usually land it on the corner then immediately fall off.

yeah, well, I've really only tried it once to see if I could do it, haven't even tried it with 3 jumps so dunno how much difference it makes. As you say, it's the angle that makes it hard, not the distance

3 guarantees the distance more or less so you really only have to worry about the angle.. lol i was kidding anyways, there are some games when i play pretty defensive, i have 2 different games. T4 is the only server where I play an offensive game because my chain and ssg are better and my rail is about 25-30% compared to on the other servers 10%.. other servers I have to rely on / wait until i get RL to do anything really.. so I try to play at t4 every chance I get

Yeah, I just did it in 2 because I thought it would make it easier getting a left-wise circle on the last jump to sneak around the corner.

And yeah, of course. I just remember how much defense you used to be a year or so back, at least you've gotten much better in offense the last half year or so.

Well, that's not really the jump we talked about though

We were talking about jumping to rail from the chaingun side, not from the gl side (http://tastyspleen.net/quake/forums/index.php?topic=2814.msg38626#msg38626)
