Yes, I received it too.

She is now banned at the router on both main tastyspleen systems, and banned from all game servers connected by the invite! system.

I told her I will delete her overrides when I have time (probably this weekend.)


Going forward, what I plan to do is write a random override generator script, which takes as input a list of locations where armor, ammo, and other items could be placed, and randomly distributes items, weapons, and armor based on probabilities.  Like, this map should have 1 railgun, between 1 and 2 super shotguns, between 1 and 2 traps, etc.

The script will also make appropriate tweaks like changing the AQ2 swinging door types, into sliding doors, etc.

Then I'll generate random overrides to replace all spawngirl overrides.

Obviously the random overrides may be less than ideal, but, anyone who wants to will be welcome to start with those and tweak them to make improvements (or just make their own override from scratch if they want to.)

But at least the random overrides should give us a starting point, and result in maps which are still playable.

Well this is exactly what we could expect from her.

I suggest we remove all her maps, AND the xrazy server, and convert the maps ourselfs again for the XTRA server.

She calls them clones - i call them the same taste, filled in like our taste.

If not we will always be depending on her moods.

@Quadz - this should be a wake up call for you, friendship doesnt exist for her - she is mentaly disordered. Also her word isnt worth shit.

We all download the same VERSION of the map.

Overrides just change the entities of the map without altering the original map itself.

Its kind of hard to explain, but you need not worry about it

No; there's no conflict.  Overrides are entirely server side.

Sure, if the license under which she released her overrides allows derivative works?

well, since the map authors didn't often cite a specific license and this allowed her to rip them off with impunity, why can't we do the same to her 'works'?

I don't recall a readme that came with her override files that states a choice of license or anything regarding derivative works, and the only information we have regarding her wishes for her 'works' is incoherent.

At release time they were all up for grabs and everyone was supposed to enjoy them and spread them around and there was no mention that nobody could ever touch them or use them to make a better one.. A couple years later she's having a hissy fit and decides that she doesn't want anyone to use them and tries to delete them from the internet.

Having an opinion that changes with the winds doesn't constitute a legally binding license.

Is there a hard copy somewhere?
