Wow man seriously what a story, very inspiring really, reminds me of one of the players we have here at Tastyspleen.
Your way of playing is about as respectable as it gets 

I only started here about a year ago (I think) , when i started the game it all quickly turned into racking up as much frags as possible, became a quad-whore myself just to top the list, somehow it was only satisfying for so long, even tho there never seems to be a limit for improvement it got boring quite fast..

Seriously LoL I dont even understand how for instance campers fucking manage to set up a tent and sit there every single game, i'm 100% sure that doing that would kill my soul.

10 years of Q2 - No Quad, PS or Invuln, All BFG, Camp and as many Spawn Kills as I can get!

Hey folx. Led Pez here..Quake2 philosopher and preacher.

A quick story:

There was a guy many years back named T-Bird. He was in the now defunct (I believe) clan [EMR]. He asked me about improving his game...about this course I've been teaching on and off for many years called Quake2 Kung Fu. In particular he was curious about the config. I started to explain it to him by explaining what the finger positions are. He responded by telling me that he didn't have any fingers. I thought he was pulling my leg. But he swore he wasn't...and he wasn't. T-Bird has no hands. He was born with arms only..up to the forearm. He has no legs. Just stumps that end at his thighs.

He played by resting his forearm on the mouse and rolling it left or right to push the two buttons. His other forearm rested on the arrows keys. That was his way of interfacing with this world...our community. And he was really, really good considering the challenges that he faced. But that wasn't all...and this is the point of the story. To T-Bird..this game was his chance to walk again. To run again. To jump again. This game, and games like it..had given him back his freedom to some extent..and you could tell by his attitude that every single day..he was just f---ing grateful to be able to PLAY this game..let alone win a map.

We're all very lucky to have this game..a place to escape to. And we're very lucky to have each other to play against. Unfortunately, we're almost universally oblivious to the fact that each of us is dependent on the other players in this game to really have a game at all.

Anyhow that's my 2 cents worth stretched out to a buck fifty. We all kick ass.

While I sometimes like to use powerups (except quad) and win on occasion, if I'm not having fun, I go do something else. I may be guilty of using Hand grenades too much at times,    but we've had some of the most hilarious games on the Railz server with them. Last night we played an awesome game on the map with the bouncing pad in the middle. Tons of targets bouncing, and tons of mid-air explosions. Skills are great, but fun is what's most important to me.   We all rock!

GLARING problem found on Fuster's...  no way to check whether someone has AC or not.  Someone was using your nick "Frank Burnside" and using a bot + wallhack earlier.  Panjoo thinks it was probably Razor.  Apparently that server is easy to bring a bot onto.  Unless the real Frank Burnside commonly has 75% rail and 40% chaingun against better-than-average FFA players.

Defo not me doing this. I'll report this to Fuster tomorrow. Think I've seen this person on there with the name like 'Pwnstar' and others.

I know Fuster relaxed the anticheat enforcement about a year ago when quite a few old skool players were unable to connect. I think its a good idea to add that back in.

Pwnstar is definitely razor (he's even been caught by AC under that name), and he has definitely been known to alias as others while playing with an aimbot and wallhack.

He's also repeatedly tested his bots to see what gets around AC on lesser known servers in the past year, including fusters and playground.ru


I would put good money on that player you saw being him.

If anyone knows the fuster's admins, let them know that we can help them to make sure that Razor never connects there again as has been done on pretty much every north american server that's regularly populated.

To be fair to Fuster the anticheat was disabled because there was never a cheating issue on there. Most players know each other from years of playing and the game is so old. The cheaters would be spotted a mile away.  I could tell Pwnstar was upto no good straight away.

Although with players like c12 who are so damn good some might think there is some dodgy business going on LOL.
