Works for me! I'm sure it will work for many people if they give it a shot. Sure perhaps there is a fraction of people that seriously have something wrong with them but most of them just think they have a problem.

Well I guess there would have to be an extent (but I don't know where the line gets drawn). But maybe those people who *think* sad all the time just need to think happy. I don't believe it's impossible for somebody to do that. I guess it depends in how strong minded you are... a lot of weak sobs out there.

I have Bipolar. I have been to therapy many times, and I have been drugged up to the point that the meds were causing more problems than the illness itself. But sometimes ya gotta do what you have to do!

Unfortunately for some of us who truly need meds to function, even talking about it like this becomes awkward.

But, someone who truly suffers from any mental illness will tell you that it is not something that you can turn on or off.

The way I explained it to my family is this....... How much sense does it make if someone has Diabetes to tell them to stop that this instant! Control your blood sugar level and get on with life already you weakling?!?

Not happening.

Again, the idea that in some cases it may seem totally absurd is completely justifiable due to the seemingly hyped over-exaggeration about it all.

But, trust me... there are some of us you DON'T want to go without meds

i agree, and i think that's true for the vast majority of people. I don't take medication, and I haven't in years; I believe there were times I've taken it and I shouldn't have, and other times where it was the right decsion.

before I experienced any mental illnesses I didn't believe in depression, not that I gave it much thought, but if my friend was depressed I wouldn't understand, and wonder how someone could be depressed. yeah people do need to think "happy thoughts" cognitive thinking is very powerfull, but then again so are the chemicals in your brain.

I strongly believe many emotional disorders are associated with early life experiences and information that is missing, perhaps by deliberate removal by the brain. So you end up with false conclusions (and crazy-like responses as a result) about things from these memories with missing information.

mhm exactly, if anyone wanted to feel like that, they are stupid. its the worst feeling ever. like you have fallen into something so deep and dark, and there is little hope of getting out.

i've tried medication. a prescription of one a day. i could take TEN and not feel shit. medication cant cure something that you mind ultimately controls.
