Lost my best friend in a motorcycle wreck when we were 17, lost all my grandparents, lost my Dad in '05, one of my brothers last week. From my perspective, you never really "get over" anything, just learn to deal and live with it, and go about your business. I suppose that some people just don't know how to achieve this, while others (although it's hard for me to believe) are just not capable. For those truely not capable, they have my sympathy. I can understand some of the younger folks just haven't figured it out yet. All the others just need to suck it up. I like G Gordon Liddy's various accounts of how he dealt with certain phobias.

This is how you girls should deal with your vehicle riding phobias(or any for that matter). I'll help y'all out. Ride with me for a full day in a car, truck, or motorcycle. At the end of the day, you'll either be cleansed of your fear, or dead from fright.

My Best friend and my Boyfriends best friend both had 'maro's (they dated each other too)  I used to cruise around with both of them. He was NUTZ, and because his dad drove a stock car in the local races of course he thought he was a race car driver too... anyways almost every time we were in his car he drove 200 km's p/h  fasted he drove with me in there was 240 clicks.  scary rush, but then i was WOOO HOOOO cause i was a dumb kid, didnt even wear a belt.

she was a cautious driver, fast off the line but never sped much. We ended up getting in an accident and I was T-boned on my side of the car. I saw it coming and she didnt. thats what messed me up.

i can imagine losing my parents, as i think we all take  a few moments in our lives to prepare ourselves.  Something makes us think what-if.  i just realized i have never done that for my brother, and i can tell you, 60 seconds into it, it is pretty ugly.
