Well how about a huge over sized carena map with 30 plus spawn pads and more rocks?

I could slap down 20 more spawns on something like Meadow3 but I think most people's rigs would see a pretty sizeable drop in fps with a map that is so open. Don't think I haven't considered it tho

yes derv ive started playing as recently as july, i didnt actually ahve the game for almost 2 years is where that reply came from.. GK had it on record it seemd the last time he seen me and told me it was two years.

i do play bfbc2 and cod and qlive clan arena. but those games don't play like q2 insta. 

i'm lookin forward to Cod black ops.. that shit looks fun.

Just change some things to make it different/harder than the previous Instagib events.

Here's a serious suggestion: set up the server with start_slugs 15 or something similar.

In normal Instagib ffa matches having only 15 slugs would suck, but in a heavily populated event it's very likely that you get killed before you run out.
And the people that won't, the effective work-smarter-not-harder-players will probably die some more because of it and have to let go of their strategic position.
Why should it always be 50 slugs or even infinite ammo? If you manage to stay alive long enough to fire 15 shots then you'll be left with four options;

1) use your grenades,
2) run around with blaster till you die,
3) stop moving, close your eyes and get it over with,
4) "kill" yourself to save time if you can afford the loss of 1 frag.

Another thing, if you guys use and configure the Lithium Mod to set up the server, that mod has a feature called "use_nocamp 0/1"
If you don't walk and just stand still while shooting it will give out a warning that you should start moving and if you don't comply it kills you after 5 seconds.
Now I don't think anyone really stands still and it's easy to trick the no_camp system by a little sidestepping, but... it is something that could add a certain risk if you're into the moment of hitting spawns and forget about moving enough.

no camp would be almost useless cause as u said all they have to do is side step. As for nades, why not add a BFG aswell? it's a railz event, nothing more annoying than nades being tossed from a legde or corner by some camping shmuck. i still reckon they should remove nades from the railz server

Lol, that just sounds like good map control to me. Best way to get more frags is to stay alive, you can't get frags while you are dead or trying to respawn.
Just because 30 people are playing it doesn't mean you shouldn't try to play smart.

Yes of course! Occasionally jumping up and crouching on the window sill of the most open area of the most played map in Q2 is totally camping. If you don't like how I play, feel free to not show up on my servers since I rarely play anywhere else. I won't miss having to chase your bitch ass around maps while you hide in fear.

You really shouldn't even use the word "bitch" to describe someone else's play, travolta. You run 3 rooms away like a fucking pansy any time anyone even looks at you in an insta duel, even when you're losing. You'll do it for the entire match too.

I've seen you run like a girl and camp mega/lift on dm1 while playing relative newbies and you try to explain it away with some bullshit excuses about how it's a "strategy" for overcoming someone with better aim, when in fact it's just you being a giant pussy who refuses to be seen for half a match.

Back int he day you didnt hide in a 1v1 match. if it was DM1 ud go to the main arena and duke it out, best shots won.  Nowadays its exactly how dervish described it. everyone hides likea bunch of pansy ass bitches.

Well people still do that on an ffa server if they choose not to go all tourney on them.

As for OpenTDM, people dont exactly "hide", but simply stock up on weapons and wait to ambush their opponent. TDM is a bit more complex than that, but who cares about TDM on dm1? It sucks anyway

i dont hide, im just a 1v1 player so i think going into a fight where both people have an equal chance of winning is just stupid... you get lucky or you dont, cant guarantee a win unless you REALLY out aim your opponent if you want to do that

id rather line up angle shots and play some headgame, its what i enjoy more anyway

the only people who think instagib should be played by rushing to center and duking it out are the people who have no brains to play the other way

I don't think I've ever met "Soulz". Founding |iR| member or not, he has NO say in what happens with the clan if he comes back. Abandoning a clan for a prolonged period relinquishes that persons rights to make decisions as part of it's leadership. Derv has stayed active and kept the clan "officially" alive ALL BY HIMSELF, which by proxy makes him the HNIC. Anyone who knows me well enough will know where I'm coming from with that and why. Bullshit. Derv's done the work and shown the commitment to leading the clan, HE is the leader now, period. Anyone who says different can KISS MY MOTHERFUCKING ASS. Any inactive prick on the roster who wants to return and try to usurp the title of clan leader with no regard for how Dervish has kept shit running while they were off not giving a fuck... can KISS MY MOTHERFUCKING ASS. You should play, as should everyone who wants to. If you truly do play to have fun then it shouldn't matter if you win or lose or who you are playing against.

Remember NAiL? Yeah, wasn't exactly a pleasant experience for me. Every round brought some new and unforeseen headache to deal with. If I thought it would be nothing but fun, I'd participate. This is already getting off to a bad start. I'll spare myself further subjection to it, thus alleviating any need to complain about it later.
