When an instagib server gets below a critical mass of about 3-4 active players it goes empty real fast since nobody went there to play duel.
The other half of the time, someone shows up, does over 400fph, and within 2 maps everyone else leaves.
i agree that yes some of the maps should go and new ones come in, not all though. Last time they took maps out they did not replace them, i think there were 3 or 4 taken out last time so the rotation is down 3-4maps from what it used to be. either way railz could use a fresh lineupmaps that should go simply because they are a server killerTLTF (server killer)q2dm8 (server killer, people complain it's too big when only a few are there)locus - insta by maric (server killer, don't know the correct name for it)gym (server killer)ven_dm4 (Don't mind this map but alot complain about it and it is a server killer)Jabs (Big ugly grey space map another server killer)

We could certainly use some new maps, but I can't really offer any suggestions either. The full mymap list has some good ones, but quite a few bad ones. Over the weekend I could poke around and make some suggestions (which Alpha will certainly disagree with since we have damn near the exact opposite taste in maps) from that list, with balance in mind (no ehwpit on regular rotation ).But yeah the skill differential is what really brings the games down. Even as I get annoyed when everyone runs off on me, I can't deny some of you are so much better than me that I can't take more than a game or two. Like the other day this big gray water column came up, and travolta just stood at the top spawn raping the 2 pads. Impossible to even get off the pad since his aim is so good (underwater; can't move fast). Then he flipped shit when me and someone else stopped playing after 20 straight on-pad deaths; sorry, not playing when that thoroughly outclassed. Don't know what the solution to that one is besides more players so you're not always fighting the strongest player. I'm sure this has been brought up elsewhere over the years, but what about the implementation of a vote to immediately change the map? There's been many times where too many people won't play the current map and leave rather than wait it out, leading to death of the game. If the reasons for not allowing it are policy rather than technical, it might be time to re-evaluate it considering how fragile games are on railz. Could even require a 2/3 or 3/4th vote; it would still save some server deaths from what goes on now.
the water level you are referencing, is that the one thats just entirely under water and has staggered spawn pads and shit? those are NOT in the rotation, and for good reason... i always get 800-1200 fph on those maps, and i don't like them either :/ the only good thing about them is if people keep respawning they end quicker, the problem is people do stop respawning so it will likely take the full 10 minutes
