That appears to be growing outdoors, yet also appears to be that which normally is only grown indoors. Do elaborate on how this unidentified plant which is not yours was grown.

Indeed it is outdo.

The person who grew it used a dark and fluffy organic soil mixture that was composed of bat and seabird guano, worm castings, perlite, vermiculite, super soil brand garden soil (the purple soil conditioner type), a bit of sand and rock dust, and some gravel in the bottom of a 5-8 gallon black or green nursery style pot.

A specialized organic soil additive mix was used to achieve a population of beneficial fungus and soil life in the medium.
http://www.ebstone.org/11_sure_start.php

The location was on the east side of a wall that is aligned north/south so that the plantings acheived a maximum 13 hours of direct sunlight during vegging, and about 10-11 hours when moved to their flowering positions.

I've been told that it took about 4.5 months of once daily watering, temperatures in the 70-85 range (with lower humidity during late flowering), weekly feeding with fish emulsion and guano teas during the later part of the vegetative phase, and a bit of pruning right before the flowering phase kicked into high gear to make it look like that. (the pictures were taken 2-3 weeks before it was cut)

That could probably never be grown at my house. The weather is so god damned unpredictable in GA, even in the middle of summer. Spring time temps are usually in the 70-85 degree range... IF there's not a sudden freeze out of the blue, or just a drop down to the 40's and 50's for a week or more at a time. By Summer, it stays pretty warm. Humid as a motherfucker too. Usually 90 to 100% humidity at any time of the day or night in the summer. Daily highs can be "low" at around 85, or they can soar to 105 or higher. This past summer wasn't too bad. We had a few days of rain and temps stayed around 97, usually never got above 100. Year before last? Holy fuck, it was god damn BRUTAL! Maybe 3 occasions for rain all spring AND summer long, and it didn't rain for more than about 20 or 30 minutes at a time on each of those 3 occasions. Temps climbed to about 110 for about 2 months. I was usually having to water my vegetable garden twice a day to keep it alive, which in conjunction with the murderous humidity, served to decimate my 40 + tomato plants with leaf fungus. My okra plants loved the shit out of it though. That was the some of the tallest okra I'd ever seen in my entire life. Even my mom's uncle who's been a rural farmer since the 1950's has never grown okra that tall. The ones on the northern end of the row shot as high as 14 feet by mid-August. It was insane.

If I attempt it again next spring, I'm going to have a much better set-up, mostly including some type of wire netting to prevent birds and other critters from killing it off before it has time to sprout and establish. I'm honestly not that keen on putting out any kind of poisons that would kill anything that comes near it. If you look at the pic I posted, about 10 feet behind that planting spot is a cow pasture that belongs to a neighbor. The cows often come to that tree line to seek shade in the summer. The last thing I want is a bunch of dead cows on the edge of my property stinkin' the place up, not to mention my neighbor would be rather pissed if I accidentally killed his livestock, and furthermore I would just personally consider it unethical to kill a bunch of animals in the woods just to keep my weed from being eaten.

Got started pretty late with my seed trays this year. Once I transplanted things out into the beds, it took longer than usual for everything to become acclimated and to start growing vigorously.

Tomatoeseses.

Okra.

Banana peppers.

Bell peppers.

Squash bushes. First 3 are zucchini. Next 3 are Dixie hybrid summer squash. Next 3 are Yellow Crookneck.

Cucumbers. Planted about 12 strong looking seedlings in a cluster, but only 2 of them survived.

Butternut squash.

Cantaloupe.

A few, yeah. None of those. In the picture of the butternut squash, you can see the bottom part of one of two Knockout Rose bushes I planted 2 years ago beside the AC coil. There's another Knockout Rose bush around back in the island where I have peppers planted. There's one more different kind of rose bush in that island too (I forget what variety it is exactly), but it looks like shit. It looked fine at the beginning of last summer until I trimmed it back a little, then most of the leaves dried up and fell off. It started blooming a little at the beginning of this summer but it never came back 100%. It produces these odd orange and sometimes pinkish blooms. On the other side of the house (where there are no vegetables) I have two climbing variety roses, but they look like hell too. At the end of last summer, aphids infested the living dog shit out of the newest growth on it and probably infected them with some kind of disease. Around the front of house, I don't really have any ornamental flowers this year, I couldn't really afford to buy any. But I do have one of most fucked up looking Crepe Myrtle trees that you'll ever see. You're supposed to prune off most of the previous summers growth on Crepe Myrtles every late winter/early spring to where most of whats left is just the main trunks... well I've let it keep growing and growing for the past 3 years now because the past few summers it's been damn near annihilated by Japanese beetles. This year it's looking healthier than it's ever looked before. The top portion of it is enormous compared to the size of the trunk.

I wish I could've done more this year, but the budgets been tighter than a nun's asshole. I spent about 90 bucks on pinestraw and that didn't even cover everything, I needed about 13 more bails.

Then of course I have my indoor garden in the basement. Sorry, but for some reason my digital camera doesn't want to work in the basement. ;D

No problem, there are already some Hemp shots here...  ...or tomatoes or cucumbers or whatever someone would want to grow in a basement...What a pitty that some of your outdoor plants get eaten by nasty little insects. Ever thought of a small greenhouse?  :humm: or something cheaper more improvised like plastic sheeting on some sticks? Maybe it results in a bigger harvest.  8)

Actually, I'd love to build a greenhouse. The problem is the neighborhood I live in has pretty strict covenants. You can't build any kind of structure without approval from the home owners association. There's a few people around here who disregard that rule though. The guy two doors down from me has a big wooden crucifix looking type thing that he uses to hang his inverted tomatoes from. The HOA may overlook something like that, but I doubt they'd turn a blind eye to a 40 foot long greenhouse.

Nah, I don't have the money for all the materials at the moment anyway. I'd have to buy pressure treated wood for the bottom frame and the door, the aluminum tubing for the rest of the frame, the plastic to cover it, the special white paint to paint the plastic with, a big fan and plastic tubing to keep it cooler than 95 degrees, a thermostat wired to the fan so the fan will kick on when it gets too hot, the wiring to hook all that up, maybe a heater too, then I'd have to install a drip irrigation system, etc etc. That's way more money than I have.
