tbh i wasnt complaining about anything i simply asked a question why is it taking so long... and tbh i do know how long it takes to create and munipulate code and this sparks another question for the great Dolan why would id decide to create this code themselves when latily they strive on making things like this 3rd party just in the way of the whole stats thing theclg.com did if for years and with a bigger base of players then geez all of the quake community know. and tastyspleen here has its own stats but its a lil less then the clq they way i see it is they are simply taking to long

All that aside. Other than player matching, the studio I'm working at is retrofitting one of it's own previously designed fps to be delivered through the web, using a similar method for player connection, and a comparable amount of stat tracking with 2 programmers and a web developer (not counting artists) in 1/4th the time. Our beginning user base will not be nearly as large, but will be scalable to the same numbers. The same programmers are concurrently retrofitting a 2d engine and additional mini-games to be released at the same time.

Our advantage is that we have purchased a preexisting engine and are merely adding a web-plugin, but that really only goes to prove that if id was keeping up in the battle of the true next gen of 3d engines, then we would be using their engine right now.

Just found out about it from a friend about a week ago. I'm pretty sure it's the same guys that do Homestarrunner, but I have yet to bother wikipedia-ing either.
