Do you have any idea what EA's headcount is versus id's?  Also, id only allocated a few resources to QuakeLive.  Most of their employees are working on other (revenue generating) titles.  How do you feel entitled to complain about a free game, exactly?

 

And btw, it's "id", not "ID."  Kind of like "Ed", not "eye dee".

It doesnt matter its still an already published game there even taking the existing maps there for they dont need alot of attention in that field they are changing some things but basic structure is already there so... there is no excuse to why it has takin them almost 2 years to release this game and JC has already admitted its taking WAY longer then expected

There is a lot more to QuakeLive besides the Quake3 gameplay you so easily recognized.  The server clustering, player stats aggregation, player search and skill-based matching, and the content delivery system all come to mind.  If you think these things are trivial, I would like to see you implement them in such a way that they can scale up to service thousands of concurrent users.  These are all pieces that require a significant amount of design, implementation, and QA.

Tools who know squat about building software: there is a lot more to QuakeLive besides the Quake3 gameplay you so easily recognized from the years of your life you lost mindlessly playing that game like the mouth-breathing cattle that you are.  The server clustering, player stats aggregation, player search and skill-based matching, and the content delivery system all come to mind.  If you think these things are trivial, I would like to see you implement them in such a way that they can scale up to service thousands of concurrent users.  These are all pieces that require a significant amount of design, implementation, and QA.

Wait, i thought we ALL lost many years of our lives playing these mindless games.  Didnt you as well?    Regarding all the quake live hardwork, well, its not like quake live is the only skill-based ranking system enabled game.  Theres plenty of them, and they seem to have pull it off well. And they didnt take as long as quake live or battlefield heroes to be released.

Ah ok, you can still tone down your response.     Yes, i understand that.  But do you think a bridge takes 10+ years to build like dnf is taking?  Theyre not building the bridge, they are just playing skinny (or fatty in georgeb's case) dipping  in the river down the bridge and watching porn.  Most professional software companies (game companies included) nowadays have a schedule, a beggining date, a production time lapse, and a ship date.  Usually the dates change, but within a reasonable timeframe.  They dont take years of a long development time and telling people itll be done soon.  Carmack himself said their next game wasnt gonna take as much time as doom3 did.  It's already taking that long.

sorry man..but this makes YOU look like the cattle--we just enjoy a burger every now and then.   Im sure me playing a game has had alot less stress on my computer chair than you writing games..because you know...it's super complicated, and us dumb consumers don't know the difference in technical shit (even thought that's the very reason it takes forever to release a game..because ya..we do)
