Here is my opinion on the Efficiency rate versus Frags. when I come up against a player who plays Efficiently along with the others
on the server, I usually come out on top and by that I mean I hit the fraglimit first, and what I do is basically go ballz out by spamming and mostly using rail.

I think the reason I do this is because I used to play on an instagib server, 1 shot one kill with rail.
Being Greatly Efficient just didn't really matter with that mod. The player that goes on killing sprees wins. Great Accuracy and some nice moves is all it takes. But I learned respect on that server by not shooting unarmed players because if I did I would be banned. I still pass unarmed players here at Tasty's most of the time because thats just the way I learned to play. Does Anybody else do this??

Some servers use to have best efficiency on the top of the score board at the end , not the one with most fragz.

I am talking about free for all death match servers (like tastyspleen vanilla or dm). The goal of this type of mod is to be the first player to hit the frag limit. Besides efficiency would fall into play with this anyhow. If you spend more time dying then you do fragging then you're not going to hit the frag limit before others. The players that think not dying is smarter playing over hitting the frag limit aren't able to hit the frag limit before others even if they tried. Excuses.

In the TDM mod, yes efficiency plays a big part. By you dying a lot you are giving the other team more points... even if you have the top score for your team but in deaths you almost match or have more... then your losing the game for your team even though you're scoring more frags then the rest of the members.

I'm sure they did this because it takes a better player not to die more then they frag i would guess.

Again I don't believe efficiency plays much of a part in a FFA to begin with. The point is to hit the frag limit.

The best games I've had here at tasty has been when 4 or 5 good players are on the server and playing the efficiency game. They Keep there health and armour up. Sometime they retreat when needed to gather more of such things. Someone once said "he who fights and runs away will live to fight another day." These players, even though the eff isnt shown I would bet pride themselves somewhat for there skill as this type of player.

If you want to play a efficiency game then stop by the sheridan server. The map played is built on being efficient. You may think I'm not a efficient player but if you play me on there you will find I won't die. Check the past stats...

So anyways dude, that is your opinion

It sure is.  ::)

There's nothing better than just hanging in the server and fraggin. Winning is great but just the fun of the frag is the best. GET U SUM Says it all.

clearly FAS - the ultimate skillz are killing with style, although u still can have plenty of skillz without killz.  movement is the true skill - its a combination of motion, jumps, and map knowledge.  the kill is the icing on the cake.  wassup Punk! now back to my dub music....

Frags are skillz, I mean killz.  Anyone who says frags are not important does not value them.  Playing with style is the pinnacle, having fun and for me frags are part of it.

My favorite game-times are when all the players are about evenly matched.  Like a good game has all players clustered on the top above 25 frags - good competition.

Having fun, multiple and memorable frags, camping, bfg-ing, hot rail-streak, special jumps, getting a 30+, reaching hard to reach places, surprising the opponent, irritating the guy who is "taking it all too seriously" - all these make for good quake.

Habib's 2 Cents.

Frags are part of the gig, good frags and sportsmanship make the game fun (give the other guy his props too).
