Q2pro uses its own renderer, built into the exec and it's Opengl only. Try Yamagi, it will have an excellent software mode.

That laptop should support Opengl, but the version it supports is probably older than the latest  Q2pro Opengl version. Try an older Q2pro release:

r1504 should work.

Anyone elso notice the remaster runs not so great online? This is because they are all listen servers and not dedicated?

Check the Shout Box. Costigan linked to it a few days ago.

I don't know if anyone has the answers yet, but I have a few questions about the re-release that I was hoping to get some info on:

1)  Is OpenGL supported with the re-release or only software mode?

2)  Can you use an autoexec.bat on the re-release?

3)  Is there a listing of the new console commands anywhere?

Thanks for any information.

Some useful commands here:

Can't condump. Not supported. cvarlist works but you can't even redirect it to a file for reference.
I prefer q2pro's descriptions when you use a cvar without arguments.

Bummer.... Definitely Skuller was on the ball with that Q2pro.

No list of console commands there yet, but a little more info .There does seem to be support for dedicated servers for other enhance Q2  clients I'm guessing.

You can type "cvarlist" in console and it will list all commands (you probably know this already) but no description of what they do, though you can usually figure it out.

I believe it is D3D11 and Vulkan. No software mode :(

It's an interesting remake. I like it.

The best thing to do is port over quake 2 n64 to the vanilla game to run on source ports like yamagi or q2pro and host server running the exclusive 10 multiplayer maps from n64 game.

make this happen someone please  :yessign:

This!  ;D

Could not be there myself so I imagine it took a little longer to hit the frag limit on account of being an easy target for the top players 😉

Nice to see that there were a fair number of participants too.

Before they were the "British Bulldogs" and before they were on the juice. Wasn't the WWF (now WWE?) but my brother and I waited for this every Saturday.

J.R. Fully, the Cuban Assassin, Iron Sheik, and crew.   :headbang:  Good times.

Wham bam thank you Ma'am.

This made me think of Biden's press secretary every time she speaks at a press conference.

Someone should tell that black Shirley Temple to tone it down with the silver eyelid paint. If you're gonna be looking down and reading word for word from your little fucking binder for every pre-arranged question, then for gods sake stop drawing attention to it with your eye paint. Or at least have someone paint some fucking eyeballs on her eyelids to try to fool someone.

And tell me this bullshit ain't intentional... how come when I google images of Karine Jean Pierre, NOT ONE of them shows her looking down and reading from the Great White Binder. Snapping a picture of her looking up at the camera is harder than murdering a busload of babies with a butter knife.

You really ought to get a job writing for a satirical news site, if you don't already.
