A few people have been poking me to post my latest pak. I figured I'd post a notice here to spread the joyous news of it's release. What better day than Halloween to release this devilish looking pak.

I've posted a few preview images and details of the features on the download page as well. It is the shit. You're welcome.

It's not often that someone does the game menus up all nicely, and I've only seen a couple of custom inventory windows.

The menu and the menu sounds are pretty cool. In-game I think the custom sounds fit well except for the spoken 'entering arena' wav as a respawn sound. That's a sound I normally hear quite often you know...
By the way do you happen to know who made those hi-poly models? Those are very well done but the skins look a bit too pale for my taste. Anyway this pak will go on my yearly q2 backup cd:)

I don't know who did the models. I found a handful of them in someone elses pak when I began putting together my archives, but they didn't function properly, I never could nail down why. Someone who shall remain unnamed sent me the pak containing the full set. I don't think my pak contains ALL of the models that was in it either. Yeah, some of the skins do appear rather washed.

I could've done a better job on the menus if I would've taken more time, perhaps if I had a better image editing program than MSPaint, hehe.

I've always used that player spawn sound because I got sick to death of always getting shot in the back when someone would spawn up right behind me. It's probably not exactly kosher to use in TDM, but I rarely play TDM anyway. The Tastyspleen AC hashlist never flags it as a modified file, so I figure its ok. AC does flag the footsteps though, even though they aren't "loud steps". I think I found them on Xtyfes page as some of the sounds he submitted for the hashlist. I thought they were pretty cool, so I threw them in there. Some of the Quake4 weapons sounds that I threw in were also from Xtyfe, so if anyone wants to hear the whole set, he has it somewhere on his page.

I did include one sound that I made myself. The xian1.wav (that crappy techno sounding song that plays at the end of a map in TDM) was replaced with a 26 second clip of Slayer's Seasons In The Abyss.

This was really just a first attempt at making custom items. I'm sure I'll be making a lot more in the future. Me and ReaListiC are about to begin work on a clan EoM pak, I'm not sure if it will be available to everyone or just to EoM members, we haven't really discussed that yet. I did have an idea to make a custom pak especially for Razor since he says he doesn't use paks. It would be nothing but menu banners. Instead of saying "game", "multiplayer", "video", "options" and "quit", all of the banners would say "NOOB ON U!!!" and "I'M GONNA NADECLOWN CANADA!"

?? RealistiC had asked me to do blue-themed .png skins for the stock -low poly- weapons for a BluePak, which is a lotta work so I hope I'm not wasting my time. For simple low resolution skins I think they look rather decent already so I could always just release them myself as a small seperate pak of course if RealistiC has other plans. Or are you talking about a completely different pak that you two might be doing?

You probably have enough custom sounds already but here's a small zip with some sounds I've collected/edited long time ago, nothing spectacular but I kinda like my 'shard' sound and the 'noammo' sound (taken from a pinball game and mixed with the stock wav). Feel free to use or edit them:)

Some of the weapon skins don't look right on the models. Black lines show up near some edges on the model, making it look rather ugly. It's not your fault Focalor or the author's it's the stubborn Q2 engine with its old texture misshaping tricks again.

I just said that because it wasn't 100% my idea to do it. ReaL said he was going to be making an EoM pak and I offered to handle the pics and sounds portion of it. So I guess it's up to him. I don't see any reason why he wouldn't offer it to anyone and everyone, I surely would.

The player/fall1.wav is funny. He mutters, "shit!".

I don't see any black lines. Could be your system, client, or settings causing that. Unless you're referring to the weapons HUD icons, which do have a black outline make them stand out a bit.
