Can't remember the rest. But playing 32nd notes and lightening arpeggios really aren't what a good solo is all about. Frankly its hard to absorb what the guitarist is playing because its too fast. Its more about feel, how it fits the song, the smoothness of the technique and the quality of the vibrato. This takes years and years to learn.

My daddy spent most of his short life (56) as a studio picker. He used to say "Son, you can get a lead picker the way most lead guitarists pick a dime a dozen - pick rhythm and you'll always have a job." He went on to say "Now, obviously I'm not talking about those lead pickers that put all the feeling of the song into a solo - the only way you can ever learn how to play like that is to put your life into it. Not many can do that son."

When the guy first starts to solo, it sounded a little chunky to me... then he breaks out all these pick sweeps and wacky two-hand tapping...

Anyway, seemed like he was having fun... and kept it pretty melodic... and musta practiced 9 hours a day for 13 years or something...

Pretty sweet indeed Quads. I'd like to hear him turn down the gain and play cleanly however! I feel that is a better test of one's skills though I have no reason to doubt he'll do well. This is more my speed and what I get all giddy over....

This guy gets the Hendrix blues sound really close. I swear I was listening to an alternate take of Red House. He explains all the pentatonic scales and technique very clearly. If I could play blues this fluidly I'd be a happy guy. By the way when I was growing up there was absolutely NOTHING available to learn blues/rock guitar. You just had your ears and a record player that you would slow down to play at 16 rpm so you could catch the notes.
