HOWEVER.  If you are suggesting that it is somehow irrelevant whether someone elected to high office believes mythology should be taught in science class, or believes (if she indeed does) the Earth is less than 10,000 years old, then I most assuredly disagree.

Normally I would continue your argument, because of your being childish about the concept of it, quoting a comedian as appropriate political theory, and portraying only one side of the argument with a skewed half truth regarding the alternate view's premise. I don't expect creationism to be taught in public schools, nor do I even support the public school system. However that was never my point.

As pointed out, this has to do with mythology, not a particular religion. More to the point: truth vs falsity. Truth is important for any proper policy making, whether it be social, economic, foreign, etc. We already saw what could happen when strong private convictions can do to a nation's foreign policy - Iraq. Not saying the war is or isn't justified, but it's worth pointing out that all the counter-evidence against invading initially was ignored, and the evidence itself FOR invading wasn't very strong. I'm not just talking about WMDs, does it seem the White House looked carefully as to just what might happen between all the different sects? Would they really get along and we could skip in and out of the country in something like a couple months costing us only dozens of lives and a few billions of dollars? "I thought they were all Muslims." Are you kidding me?

Once again, historically it may or may not be correct to have been invade the country and maybe it will be stable, prosperous, and a friend of the western world. It seems the government was just "9/11 happy" and did not allow for a proper critique against the reasons to invade. Creationism encompasses everything that is opposed to critical thinking.

All that matters regarding policy, belief, etc. is EVIDENCE. Evidence can be interpreted in different ways, but it must be acknowledged on both sides of any argument, not ignored for personal reasons.

I was basically just in a bad mood, yet AGAIN the American people might settle with we might have a creationist (stupid) president. McCain isn't that bright, but he does accept evolution and I say
