unfortunately the only peoples opinions they are interested in are newbs, millions of them, the ones who'll buy the game no doubt, long lasting appeal? thats counter productive, they want you to buy it, beat it, play some mp until doom 4 comes out, or quake wars, they dont give a shit about long lasting gameplay, that doesnt sell, easy learning curve, great graphics, more gimmicks, thats what sells, people always criticize me for talkin shit to newbs for not improving, but here we are on the wake of a new game, and it is because not enough care about truly excelling in competive gaming that we must settle for this

Well banes, as amazed as i am with myself ... I actually agree with you...for the most part

I dunno If they are newbs, just people that want to try something new. But as far as what sells, I absolutely agree with you. It makes sense.

I saw you mentioned "enemy territory: quake wars." Ive been eyeing that one for a lil while now, and it looks to be pretty sweet

I am gonna have to check that one out when its released.

As far as quake 4 goes, I was also at quakecon, and had the chance to check it out. Its gameplay is very similar to q3/d3 ... but the maps are much more like q2. So .. im thinking, if the mappers stick to the more open/spread-out maps, it could turn out to be a lot of fun. I just dont like the way most of the q3 maps are all cramped "arena style". That kind of gameplay just doesnt do it for me.

I guess we will all just have to wait and see. BTW, I will be buying q4 and quake wars. So If that makes me a newb, ... well then, uber noober i am

j/k j/k .... but man , they were doing some pretty cold stuff to people that got up on stage there

For example ... they called up guys that had condoms in their wallets. Once the guys got up there they were checking the expiration dates on the packages, and then making fun of em for it

They also called a guy up there and made him shave his legs while he was in his box0rz. The poor kid obviously had never even shaved his face in his entire life, and damn that guys had cuts all over his legs because of it

But it was funny and entertaining. Too bad I didnt see more of you tastyspleeners down there! It was a blast .... Maybe next time eh?
