A Chicago Server

I may set up a Chicago server soon but I would like to know what kind of pings people are getting on some ip's ... So if your from the Midwest, Northeast, or anywhere at all would you please ping these ip's in command prompt and please state your location: (goto start>run>type cmd>then type ping then the ip) also traceroute's would be good too (just type tracert then the ip)

i'm getting a ping of ~56 on all of those.  North-East US.

Who's the host?  I got those same pings on my hosts Chicago's servers but I kept mine in Dallas for a more "even" ping from around the US/CA.

internap on the 74.63.67.242 one...the game server provider is emsgaming, they seem to have good prices, $15 a month for 10 players, I think Dallas is pretty much covered by tastyspleen though I would expect you to get a little better ping from northeast though, around 25-45 anyway...but at least there the same pings you used to get.

I get ~90ish for texas. 

I use escapedturkey for my Q2 host.  That's $20 a month for up to 32 people + 4 private slots.  Linux only so if a mod doesn't support linux you can't play it (have had help from people getting some mods to linux though!).

i remember Chicago was mentioned along with Atlanta but I'm not sure.  I posted on their forums to ask.

EDIT: looks like i'm internap.  not really sure what that is though!

Ouch, I get 39-50 to Texas depending...if your on DSL make sure you are set on fast path.

Yeah I talked to escaped turkey and it's a very good price but only Dallas server's.

Yeah I read some of the forums, I think they tried Atlanta and it didn't work out, he said he might try Chicago sometime, So I told him I was interested.

I sometimes get packet loss with this server. I tried pinging with a -t and was able to reproduce it. Here's the summary:

I'm just south of buffalo, NY.  We have relatively crappy 'net down here.  I'm NOT complaining @ under 100 ping.  I get ~200 to EU which makes me happy too, and it's still very playable imho.  but i'm not even sure there's fiber around here.  When I move "home" (@ a temp place right now) I'll be in the middle of nowhere with DSL (cable now) & still get the same pings.  Part of my issue is that all my 'net goes to buffalo, then albany, THEN syracuse, then to another major hub.  So it travels across      the sate for me... twice!

Thanks for the ping's RotA...that packet loss is most likely between you and the server...I get a clean netgraph here...but its still low packet loss (only 3 lost over 83 sent)

Friar I know someone from around Cleveland, Ohio & around Niagara Falls, Canada that is getting 23ms...i'm just saying it could be much better, I live in a town of only 300 people... it sucks when it bounces around like that.
