Oh, yeah, I can imagine the fun now.  Problem is, if someone has a lag spike, they can get the same teleporting forward effect produced by this alias.

So, how do you tell, unless someone is really abusing it so much it's totally obvious?

In cases where someone's obviously using this alias, I have no problem with forcing anticheat on their IP.

Wait a minute... That variable is one of the "cheat protected" variables in the 3.21 sources.  So I don't see how that alias could work, unless someone is using a hacked client?

r1q2 is open source.  There's no rule against making a custom version of it.  That in itself does not mean it's HACKED, just CUSTOMIZED.

Now, if someone really has coded hax into their client, that is a different matter.

I'm not going to ban someone for INVENTING something that technically isn't even a hack.

However, as I said above, if people are caught using an alias like this to give themselves an unfair advantage, then I have no problem forcing anticheat on their IP.
