The Eagles - Hotel California, electric version, not that soppy unplugged one.

Hammer Ons, Bends and Scales that are combined to the best choice and taste ever. Tastefully classic.

I'm not a fan of metal, or blues or hard rock, but I know skill when I hear it. And I still think this one tops 'em off. Way before shredders were born.

Alvin Lee, v.nice recycled.... think I mentioned him as being 'the fastest player for the time period' on a previous thread. And of course, any1 who knows 10 years after should automatically think of I'm going home :>

It was kind of a joke. I loved the way it sounded so cheezy. But the notes are more-or-less correct. The drum seems a half-step out of time.

Well, of course it's not one of the greatest guitar solos ever, not even close. Just commenting on the speed of the guitar for the late 60's.

I'm used to hearing songs in that style w/ my tab software.. the notes sounded right tho :>

Death metal guitarists typically sink into obscurity no matter how good they are, but one has managed to join the ranks of several AWESOME bands. He was a secondary lead guitarist on the Death album Spiritual Healing. He also was lead guitarist on Obituary's album Cause of Death. I believe he was also in Cancer for a while. He had his own band called Disincarnate for a while. He released a solo album or two. In the past he's authored monthly columns in a few guitar magazines. He's not like the majority of shredding death metal lead guitarists, his style is certainly recognizable by it's melodic processes.

Another one of m favorite guitarists has always been Chuck Schuldiner of Death. Another guy with shotloads of talent and an instantly identifiable sound.

Hmmm. I'm not going to make the claim this is the best solo EVER... but it's an example of the kind of guitar solos I like: ones that are inventive, unique, a little out there... yet never stop being musical.
