I know it's a little late but I'm surprised to not see this on here yet. There is an obnoxious show on ESPN where all the audience members say he's unfairly treated because he's black. Any thoughts?

My question to those that think he is being treated unfairly bc he is black would be "how then should he be treated for breaking the law?"
Apparently based on their line of thinking, he should get some special treatment I suppose bc he is black then?

being an American Staffordshire owner, it hurt me a lot to see the images of those dogs. I kept thinking "what if my dog had fallen into the hands of a person like that?!?"
She is so sweet and would never harm anyone. Her good nature would have gotten her tortured and then killed...

I'd like to take this moment to say that in dog shelters/spca's, pittbulls are 'rescued' by people like Mike Vick and then put to work. If you have a chance, save a dog from the pit's. adopt an Am Staff.

I moved to the US about 6 years ago, down south is where I reside now, there is little racism where I come from (I have lived with blacks, whites, asians, muslims etc.). I have learned a lot about racism from living here, but I see none in the Vick Case. Any man that tortures any of the creatures of the Earth for fun should be punished. I believe he is remorseful for what he has done, but, unfortunately he must pay the price, just like I expect to pay the price for breaking the law (that is why I don't do it).

Funny, he is describing the pain the dogs went through, but its almost like he's describing his black victims.

Sometimes things go both ways. I don't believe Vick was treated wrongly, because the law should treat people who do things like this accordingly, which is right. However, there are some racist hypocrytes that should be facing far worse punishment.

and as for the other thread at the top, yeah I say bring on the hambone, I don't really understand it though (dogfighting as a sport) I've read and heard that black guys like vick will raise these dogs as their own, for years, and then fight them and watch them die even with a sentimental sp? attachment, I don't know anyone that would be able to do that

i think they should ban him from playing nfl, i'm not sure about jail, but money, probation, banned from the nfl.

punishment doesn't fit the crime imo. there were football players that killed people in dwi car crashes that got off easier then this guy. they killed PEOPLE not some mutts.

Maybe he feels regret for getting caught, but I don't believe that he feels bad for what he has done.

It's all an image thing to him moreso than actually feeling sorry for the actions that he took (at least that's the impression I am getting from his responses).
So, naturally he may be trying to appear remorseful in the public eye in order to save face with some.

Dogs are dogs, they are bought and sold, therefore property of their respected owners. Ive never seen someone get 40 years in prison for cockfighting, whats the difference. My .02

besides, dog races are legal and people bet on them....i wonder what happens when one of them gets badly injured during a race or during training...hmmmmmmm
