Not everyone who involves an animal in a sport, tortures them to do it.
They still have coursing too, and you don't hear of people electrocuting their whippet if it takes a corner too tight and slips and hurts itself.


there's a big difference between raising any sort of animal for mortal combat, and raising/training one to run fast and chase a fake bunny.

People who train fighting dogs are the reason that other innocent people end up on the biting end of a pitbull that got loose, and the reason that great dogs like pits and bulldogs get a really shitty reputation for being "dangerous".
These people don't deserve to be treated any better than a person who takes innocent children and beats them until they are sociopaths.


and the difference between dogfighting and cockfighting is related directly to the damage potential of the "trained" animal.
Sure you might get pecked to death by a pissed off chicken, but there are better odds of people getting hurt/killed if an enraged pitty (or 3) gets loose.

agreed. Also, I dont think the life of a dog is any less important than the life of a person. 

I had a guy come up to me and ask a ton of questions about my dog, thought the guy was just a pit fan.
then he said "do you sport?"  at that point i was completely stunned and i could feel myself getting very angry and tense.... my dog picked up on my mood and began growling.... the guy walked away.

I wish I would have wrote down his license plate number and reported him  I was so stunned I didnt even think of it.

I still look for his van.. i'd really like to fu*k that guy up ya know?  lol

death on innocent animals is impossible to compare to killing a person in a car crash by accident because of a dumb mistake to drink and drive.

Someone who kills on accident from DUI and someone who murders/tortures dogs should both face SEVERE penalties.

I agree but it's not consistent. Like my earlier statement. There was a football player who did kill somebody in a DUI accident and got off with far less then what this Vick guy is.

well what can I say, im not a vegetarian either.. i actually hunt, and have killed animals 
but dogs are so loyal to people,  dogs love us unconditionally. i just have a soft spot in my heart for them.
my BF's even told people that I love our dog more than I love him LOL.... maybe, maybe not...

It's not like I condone abusing dogs or like I don't like dogs. I grew up with dogs my whole life (as pets!)... I just sorta think this is blown out of proportion when compared to past (more severe) crimes committed by other football players.
