when I saw a screencap of that video on yahoo a few days back, I thought it was just some ugly chick crying, and I ignored it.

Dervy I beg to differ with your declaration of him being a metrosexual. According to urban dictionary, metrosexual is: A straight man who embraces the homosexual lifestyle, i.e. refined tastes in clothing, excessive use of designer hygiene products, etc. Usually is on the brink of homosexuality.

Chris crocker calls himself 'the new christ' and claims to be a woman on youtube. Even if you like him, it doesn't change the fact that he's doing all of this for attention, and attention is what he is getting. Chris crocker is a disgrace. Any homosexual or person with gay friends that actually have sense (gays that aren't flamboyant for attention) know that it's people like chris crocker who give gay people a bad name. He is the reason for not only all the hate brought upon him but others as well. I mean honestly, the only reason why ANYONE would give 2 shits about what he has to say is because they feel sorry for him. tbh tho, I pity the viewers of his lame videos even more. Isn't the purpose of anyone who runs a series of videos on youtube, myspace, and what not, doing it for attention? for self-promotion? free publicity? This is how you get on Oprah w/o an agent. This is how you get on television or cameos in movies without having to go through a casting call.

As far as his flamboyancy. Gays come in all shapes and colors, and there are equally the flamboyant ones just as the ones who can and have easily passed as a "straight," in society. I often wondered myself, why on earth would someone choose to have a speech impediment. To voluntarily have a lisp while the next person pays a lot of money to a speech pathologist to rid themselves of theirs.

At first, I thought Mr. Crocker was full of himself. But after I watched a few of his vids, I realized, that's the art he was trying to portray, being full of himself. Even he admits, you're not to take him seriously. And if you don't, looking at him in that light, he is sort of funny. As far as giving gay people a bad name, the same was said for the Emmy award winning show Will and Grace. There is ALWAYS going to be someone offended. I think back to something I read about Eminem in Rolling Stone I believe, to the effect, "They say his art is obscene, but obscenity is his art." Crocker's antics I feel fall into this category.
