Weapon change times

I'm just wondering if there's any way to get rid of the second it takes to change from one weapon to another; if there's a way to get them to change instantly.  Because I just have my weapnext and weapprev commands bound to my mousewheel up and down.

That is just the way it is.  There are other mods that allow for instant changes.  Lithium being one of them i believe.

Its a level playing field against your opponents.  They cannot do it any faster then you.  However, you can set up keys that are easier to reach so you can reach them faster.  Most people are set up that way.  Set up weapons keys in a short, comfortable reach around your movement keys.  Also, just knowing when to switch will help you beat your opponent.  Unless your opponent is full of red armor, one shot from the rail should normally be followed by the Super Shotgun, or Chaingun for a quick kill.

i use the arrow keys to move... enter to jump, shift is walk, ctrl is crouch... weapon drop binds are on the keypad.... its basically a modified version of what i used in TFC hehe

There is no way to speed up the wepaon change times.Just thought Id giv you a definitive answer!At least not in this mod.But you can hold fire down as its changing and shoot as fast as possible. :p

I use WASD, but ESDF is better cause theres more keys to bind around them, but I'm too used to wasd to change.

I use esdf just for the reasons naymlis mentioned. It frees keys to the left of the movement keys for weapon-binds. Allthough ctrl and shift feel easier to access with my little finger using wasd. But I'll stick with esdf

I used to play with arrows when I was new, having weapnext and weapprev on the ctrl on numpad 0/ins, ducking on shift or something like that. But pretty soon realized that changing weapon that way was no good at all Ever since then I've used esdf, with qwargvx used for weaponbinds and c = "say : D" and space is ducking, ctrl is now walking (trying to use it more but damn, I never do).
