I use one of those binds where I right-click and it switches to chain if I have it then supershotgun if I dont etc etc
I'm using arrows, never have been able to use the wasd and stuff

Echoing Naymlis here.

esdf is better, but im too used to wasd. I like the Shift + ctrl vicinity though, and since they're bigger keys - it's easier to handle.

my controls just aint to good for quake 2 coz of the crap weapon changing in Q2, but my controls are world class shit in quake 3 arena. in Q3, i've actually won 2 national tournaments on SNO servers. dunno if they still exist but yall can search em - my scores my still be up there somewhere

i can never change my controls - i've got too used to em.

i love my mouse weapon binds... i can access just about any weapon i need in an instant while still being ready to fire, and have my left hand completely controlling my movement

thats why i say my controls are damn good for Q3 - in Q3 its damn easy to switch weapons with the mouse wheel coz its weapon switching is much faster than in Q2.

Umm.. I have the rail, rocket launcher, hyper blaster, and bfg set to buttons on my mouse... what's cool is I have EXTRA buttons on it though... about 5 i think, aside from the mousewheel and mouse1 and 2.

I use rfdg for movement. I find it opens up more buttons for my lower pinky than edsf or wsad and leaves my hand in a more central location for everything else... i think that will become helpful (right now it probably makes no difference

) when (WHEN.. not IF!!) i get better and actually USE all my binds. Soon... soon...

I actually have the same mouse, but not wireless (mx300). The mx500 was just too heavy for me and made my wrist get sore really easily, so I brought it back to the store and got this one. That was like 2 1/2 years ago and I still use this mouse. I love it!

I still haven't figured out how to bind things to the 2 buttons on the left side (Back / Forward buttons). In newer games, the buttons usually show up in the key configuration as "mouse4" and "mouse5". Any help?

Oh, and in case anybody was wondering...I also use WSAD. Shift for crouch, space for jump. Weapon binds? Feh, I just use the number keys. I should really get out of the habit of that...that's too much movement. I guess I got used to that back in the Quake days also...and I couldn't stand the mouse and keyboard for it back then. My dumb ass bought a controller with left and right triggers to look up and down. Needless to say, that didn't last real long...heh.

hehehe... actually the mouse i have HAS a cord... maybe you're thinking of the mx900...

anyways to get those binds to work for your mouse you have to use the mouse control panel and change the function of the mouse keys. Just go into the buttons configuration and change the function from the defaults (page forward, scroll, etc) and make the funtion "press key". Then you can choose from a list of keys you can make it press... (numbers, letters, etc) my rail is still set to 9, and I made one of my mouse keys type 9. And it pulls up the rail real quick!
