you knwo what??? fuck it, i dont give a fuck what you ppl think anymore. to hell with it. you guys dont not understand the problem im having with r1q2. you think turning the async "off" is going to solve the problem. and it isnt. trust me randy i dont have anything to hide. if you guys had the same problem you would be on here saying the same thing if you couldnt play. i cant jump with that client so beieve what you want!

You just have to change one line in your config/console and it's fine:

With async "off" the physics of r1q2 are as close to 3.20 as any client, even a frankbot that's pretending to be nocheat..

Other than a majorly ridiculous disparity between your cl_maxfps and your monitor refresh rate, there's nothing that should cause a problem with your jumping action once you've set async to 0.

BTW, the r_maxfps should be set to 1000 like it normally is and left there if you have async off, as it does nothing and you'll just have a fucked up setting in your config when/if you turn async back on.

Also, since you have no problem getting FPS over 80, I fail to understand how your video hardware cannot run aprq2... My geforce fx5200 can't get FPS over 80 and it runs fine with aprq2 and egl, as does my geforce 4 mx440 64mb POS..

Why would my crappy outdated vid cards work fine with it, while yours does not?

well for that comment about the aprq2. just go ask r1ch. he was there helping me with the settings. it didnt work. it would only run in software. ask him for your self

I asked a simple question, here it is again:

How can your video card be too shitty to run APRQ2 in openGL when it is obviously capable of producing the very high FPS that your FPS changing binds call for?

The reason I'm confused is:

I have a decent video card that literally rapes APRQ2, and it has never produced 80FPS or higher, even while standing still on a square map made entirely of sky brushes. (jack squat to render)

I also have a very old geforce4 card that can barely run quake2 at a steady 60FPS, yet it works fine for APRQ2.

I've even gotten it to run opengl using an ATI rage pro 128 with a whopping 16mb of ram on the card.

Maybe you should tell us what kind of video card you're using that is entirely incompatible with aprq2 and egl and r1q2, so we dont accidentally buy one..

and like i said before. r1ch and i have tryed to run the aprq2 and it wont run less i run in software. i have a 256 ati 9550 card. dont know why it wont run. just says some kind of error. cant remember what kind of error. think it was video error or somthing.
nocheat is not something i want to run trust me. id like to run r1q2 or aprq2 it would be nice to run something better and updated. when q2ace came out i had somewhat the same problems. maybe its something in my cfg i really dont know. but when nocheat came out i had no problems running it. id like to ask you why did you put that comment about>>>> I'd hate to be "forced" to use "Nocheat" one day???? there's nothing wrong with nocheat. its just not updated like the r1q2 and aprq2. and if your going to say something about it being haxed. welll r1q2 has been haxed as well. every client that comes out is haxed into. no matter what you do its going to be haxed.

As an aside, on a positve note--

we got our server configuration straightened out today to support HTTP downloads via r1q2.

So instead of r1q2 users being able to download maps 5 times faster than NoCheat users, downloads are more like 20x faster now.

heading off topic here, so feel free to delete this if you want...

But. r1q2 anticheat is basically foolproof. The weakness in it is not associated with the system itself, but with the server admins. You could set up a server that is 100% uncheatable with it. It just requires LOTS of hash files. Unfortunately for me, im a noob who had trouble tying his shoes, and thinking of trying to create hash files puts me on the floor crying sucking my thumb calling for my mommy.

So. r1q2 anticheat set up properly on a server is PROactive. r1q2 anticheat set up on a noob owned server running in default is REactive. It makes no sense to give out all the details, because it empowers the ill-intentioned. But even in REactive mode, anything visual should be caught (wallhacks, etc) in due time (shorter rather then longer). As is, you are very, very safe on TS servers. For every 10,000 claims, there may be one hack that is caught and removed.

Too clampen down the vise any more, will remove the freedom players have now to make thier game look any way they want, sound any way they want, etc. Anything can be achieved with the current system, but its about how you want it to work, how much freedom is given, etc.

you cant tell me there's no hax's out there for the new anticheat. cuz i know there is. like i said before. they are hard to find but still you can hax with the new anticheat. quadz? that's good its 20x faster. but for me i really could care less if it dl'ed faster or not. i care on how my game play is and how smooth i can get it.whirl? as for nocheat being capable, I know it wont ever be capable. i wish it would be cuz i love the way my game runs with it. tonight im hopen i can do something about r1q2. imma going to check everything. make new cfg's and what not and see if i can get r1q2 to run alot better. quadz? i just want to say im sorry for the way i was acting. it was annoying for me, for me to change everything around like i had to. fear i wasn't actually saying that you have somthing to hide, i was saying that from an admin standpoint that would be what i would assume. I know you well enough to know u have nothing to hide, and i havent played q2 in quite some time as i moved and have not had internet installed at the new place. I have decided not to get internet this summer as it will force me to go out and have fun rather than sit and play q2 all day
