r1q2 is retarded!!!

I'm putting this here cuz i didnt know where else to put it soo... I just want to add that r1q2 is really hard to work with. i have a number of diff fps alias that i use for tdm and jumpmod. i have use nocheat for years now and all t he settings that i have work really well with nocheat. let me explain i little more here! im not trying to say its not a good thing for anticheat cuz it is. but, unlike some of you guys i change fps all the time with jumps weps and so on. with r1q2 you have r_maxfps and cl_maxfps, when you have alias set as somthign like this>>>   alias LOW_FPS "set cl_maxfps 31; echo MAXFPS IS 31; alias FPS" MID_FPS

now please tell me how the fuck can i make the r_maxfps work with this?!?!?!? i have been messing with r_maxfps and cl_maxfps all fucking night long. i put r_maxfps 120. try setting my cl_maxfps 47. it works some what but not ner as good as it did when i was using nocheat!!! theres a jump down by the water, island that you need cl_maxfps 27 well guess what?!?! i cant do the cl_maxfps 27 cuz the r_maxfps is getting in the way and i dont have a way or know of anyway i can make alias for the r_maxfps so it works with cl_maxfps. i get this weird ass lag now from the anticheat that is just so fucking annoying its not even funny. dont want you to think i dont want to use the anticheat cuz i would love to. but this shit is really getting to me. this is why i never used it before. i tryed it back then and it was the same way as it is now. there's a double jump in the mega room that i have never had a problem with ever. and now i cant do it. i feel like im just learning again. iv worked hard to get where i am today and im not and wont start all over again. ill quit this fucking game if i have to!!! but that's not somthjing i really want to do. q2 is the best game ever in my eye's and some of us work really hard to get good and some just cheat cuz they dont care or dont wanna get good. I practice every chance i get. so if someone could plz tell me how im suppose to work this out with the r_maxfps and cl_maxfps. would be nice!!!

here's somthing i found that explains alot!!!


With cl_async 1, cl_maxfps will control the NETWORK packet rate - ie how many packets/sec you send to the server. r_maxfps controls how many FRAMES are rendered per second at a maximum. You should never need to adjust r_maxfps, but try cl_maxfps 30 or other similar values in order to save bandwidth and server CPU time if possible.


right there its telling me with cl_async "1" i cant change my fps like i do with nocheat. it just dont work!!!

My guess is you may be in a subnet that has anticheat required (because of some other player with an IP near you.)

With AC, you have your choice of three clients: r1q2, AprQ2, and EGL.

Frankly, I would suggest talking to other players on jumpmod who use r1q2.  Maybe there is something special in their config, I dunno?

for one i cant run aprq2. my video card wont run it. so the only option i have is r1q2. and for that subnet bullshit. come on. its your server's you set the command to force anticheat?!?!? iv been running nocheat with no problem. a few others had to get anticheat as well. to me this is bullshit. and i wont get anywhere here i guess

I don't even understand what you're saying.  I searched the list for your IP.  Here's the problem:

  addacrequirement 24.58.118.83/16

You are caught in a subnet AC requirement for f0cus.  His IP and your IP both start with 24.58...  People have dynamic IPs, that's why I used a subnet mask.

Exactly what do you mean by "bullshit".  You're in the same subnet as this guy; it may be unfortunate but that's the current situation.

I can look into adding an exception for your IP, but I'm pretty sure there are other people on jumpmod using r1q2?  I have a hard time believing it's the end of the world like you make it out to be.

Or, maybe I'm wrong, and no good jumpers use r1q2.  Is that the case?

im saying its bullshit cuz i cant play with q2 anymore. and im not sure what you mean by subnet. and it dont matter about other ppl playing jumpmod, cuz they dont use alias like i do. everytime i ask somone about it they dont know what to say to me. cuz for some reason it seems im the only one having this problem. dont know why but its happening like that. why all of a sudden is focus ip messing with mine?? it hasnt been sence he came back and he's been back more the a month.i tryed the aprq2 and it seems to work better its  just i need to find other commands for it. to see if i can get it to run like nocheat. its just dumb i have to do all of this cuz of somthing stuid. as for making it out to be the end of the world lol im not tring to say that at all but i like playing q2 just like everyone else. right now i cant play cuz this r1q2 client i cant play with it. so if i cant play with it cuz it makes my game like shit what do i do??? stop playing???

In this case, it means every IP in the neighborhood of 24.58.*.* is affected.

Anyway, I have added an exception for your specific IP.  Hopefully it doesn't change often.

I can't see R1Q2 being much of a problem for anyone.
You just have to change one line in your config/console and it's fine:

With async "off" the physics of r1q2 are as close to 3.20 as any client, even a frankbot that's pretending to be nocheat..
(a client which I'm sure no one would ever try to circumvent an AC requirement in order to use... )

Other than a majorly ridiculous disparity between your cl_maxfps and your monitor refresh rate, there's nothing that should cause a problem with your jumping action once you've set async to 0.




BTW, the r_maxfps should be set to 1000 like it normally is and left there if you have async off, as it does nothing and you'll just have a fucked up setting in your config when/if you turn async back on.

Also, since you have no problem getting FPS over 80, I fail to understand how your video hardware cannot run aprq2... My geforce fx5200 can't get FPS over 80 and it runs fine with aprq2 and egl, as does my geforce 4 mx440 64mb POS..

Why would my crappy outdated vid cards work fine with it, while yours does not?
