Guys at my school really look down on girls. "The kitchen is where they belong... etc." and it pisses me off. Women can succeed in any field they choose, if they put their heart to it, same with guys. Men are just as responsible for cooking, cleaning, and taking care of the children as the women are.

personally i think things in a relationship should be as equal as possible, that said, i think women should stay home with their kids if possible. unfortuantly, women want to work, or it's necessary they work, so they don't stay home and take care of their children.  but that's the least of my worriest, and not because i don't have kids.  this countries messed, and it's hard to live on one income

I feel that intelligence would be much more accurately described like this:

"the ability to solve problems, extrapolate the effects of actions and place a pertinent level of value upon those effects"

This study seems to equate intelligence with this:

"the ability to score within an arbitrary range of percentages that has been deemed desireable on a test of specific knowledge"

They draw no distinction between intelligence and knowledge and this is my major beef with their results.

yeah, i worked with someone who had a phd in math, and i was baffled that he couldn't do his job well (the same job i had), he had about the same experience as me. just because someone doesnt have a college degree doesn't mean they don't have drive, bill gates for instance

    But I was thinking about this today,  barely related.
I ate at burger king the other day.  Meal came to 3.23.
Not a bad deal for 2 burgers made my way and a pop.
Anyhow,  I handed the girl a 20 and said "hang on a sec I have change"
she punched in on the register and cashed it out b4 I even gave her the change.
I thought ' at a girl ' she can do it in her head.   She takes the change, looks at the screen, looks at the change,
looks at me, and looks around for help, then just hands me back the change "Can you take this,  I already did 
it on the screen"

I just got a kick out of that.

It also amuses me the number of gas station attendants who are astounded
when the total I ask for in gas along with whatever munchies I picked = the 10 or 20 dollars I am using.

of course women should get the same salary that men do.. if their job performance is the same (men that slack off should get paid less than women that work hard as well). as far as the cleaning, yeah men should be responsible for it as well, but through tradition in American society (yes i know, this doesn't apply to everyone and may reflect ignorance upon some of our fellow citizens.. lol), the man of the household typically supports the family, and his wife is usually in charge of most of the cooking.  Given that everyone should do their part to clean up after themselves, this is definitely a part of American society that has existed for some time.

i think ideally the woman should stay home, take care of the house, take care of the children, instead of the kids going to daycare.  a lot of things should be taken care of but get neglected when both parents work.  when there isn't kids, i don't think it matters if both the man and woman work, but it's not like i expect this situation anyway, if i had a kid, i'd imagine i would need two incomes. 

interesting example, the company i work for has about 15 employees, and is run by a husband and wife. the wife started the company, could never picture herself not working, then when she had kids, she realized the best thing to do was leave her company, and have her husband run it.  she comes in here and there, but that's a pretty ideal situation

it kinda sucks to me that many women take the whole idea of a woman being a stay-at-home mom as an insult, as if they aren't capable to support a family or even themselves.. this is not the case, nor have i ever seen it this way.  to me its more of a favor that the man does for his wife and children.. i really think the man of the house has a responsibility to provide for his family a tad moreso than does the wife.  i'm not saying that all women should be housewives, either.  I dunno, kinda makes me think of "What?!?! ladies first?!?! i dont have to go first!! i can go second just fine!!" lol its really just a gesture of kindness, and i guess honor? to me. oh well fuck this forum time to go get a keg of yuengling

There is more than IQ that makes someone valuable.  Certainly with women there are many other qualities, some obvious and some not so obvious.
