I've been playing Quake2 for a long time now...over 6 yrs...and I still suck.....But in this time, I still have yet to be able to understand why anyone would want to cheat. I mean, the people that cheat, know that they cheat, therefore they know that they suck even worse than me if they don't cheat....So even after all the "pw0n3d" and trash talk and glory that comes from the feeling of winning, they still know it is all fake....and will always be haunted by the fact that they know deep down that they actually SUCK and don't "pw0n3" anything. What happens then when they get invited by a friend to do a LAN?.....They SUCK and know that they will loose without their cheat so they make excuses not to show.....Missing out on the fun that a game is all about. And besides, it's not like there is any money involved. And even the LAN Tourney's where there is money to be made...they can't join em because they Suck and know it....and they will be busted if they try to cheat.

So basically knowing that your a Lame Ass that Sucks without cheating and not being able to stand with Real pride holding all the braging rights of a True winner....seems like that would be the punishment in itself.

eh, that is something different. Different circumstance then the average player. It is dealt with in the proper way.
